  4. Aaargh! haven't completed our train of Hornby coke hoppers yet......!!!! Phil
  5. Can see why that would be...the acceleration and gear changes on the Howes sound file are for gentle driving and it would not have much chance to get up to speed on a shorter layout. Is fine for linger run like abbotswood especially when it is taken off the speed curve to get up to speed instantly before entering the scenic section. A cracking model.....
  6. Ah happy days - I was there Smashing photos again Dave - far better than anything I have Many thanks for sharing Phil
  7. And even Worcester gave up cleaning eventually..... http://www.miac.org.uk/worcestershrubhillrnp.html May 64 was probably a watershed ... once the Castles had been prepped for the Ian Allen special Phil

  12. Its often quoted as umber .... but it sure as heck isn't Pullman umber ... just sprayed 864's underframe with that and looks nowhere near.... Any suggestions as to a better colour match please? Phil
  13. A bit of work to do with extra headboard and lamp brackets plus handrail removal.... See http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/83923-d200-from-Bachmann-d211/page-2 Hope that helps Phil
  14. Hi Dave those look smashing - many thanks for sharing That screw link coupling looks like a solid moulding - can I ask how a tension lock coupling fares with that in place pelase? Kind regards Phil
  15. So what to check? Boiler tanks...sand boxes....nose doors Those are the issues that immediately come to mind - others may come along with more Kind regards Phil

  18. Thanks to plural Neils - Downendian and t-other Neil too! Will be great to see you both Have done 864 underframes with Precision Pullman Umber over grey primer and thus far am not impressed. Needs going over again possibly with some added black.... looks much too pale. Will post a picture tonight although the light wont be good! And yup its a tough life in Churchdown works.....! Poor old Jimbo has had two bouts of norovirus since Christmas and has been suffering from cabin fever too...hence my encouragement. Tough love. He was game for starting 3 more warships but I suggested it might be a good idea to get those in hand completed first...so if we get these done for Newbury there could be a further batch done for Nottingham in March! Phil
