  1. Hee hee - but for an offer like that I would pay postage .....and any other costs!!!!! Phil
  2. Now Mr Mortimore.... I originally had 2 LH ferrets but changed one .... but d*mned if I can now find the evidence that made me do it..... Pesky things ferrets.... And yes a litany of issues with D326 .... Winson Green run away, Chester collision.... Phil
  3. Cheers Dave I suspect that is something we all did - Abbotswood itself was a difficult location to spot at when things hammered past at 70 mph! Phil
  4. Hi Dave Its another numbering conundrum!!! That Brush type 4 in J608 has fixed 3 part radiator grilles, looks like a Stones boiler and seems to be VB only - as built D1819 was serck rad grilles and dual brakes, no boiler D1619 as built fits the above profile and was a WCML loco April 66- Feb 67 - what do you think? Phil
  5. You are right Neil it is pale! https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=type+4+D326&biw=1143&bih=608&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwj_6-bzwYHSAhWiCMAKHbKOAPIQ_AUIBigB#imgrc=4GZR7hqVL_CF7M: Isnt that a cracking photo? Have tried what you suggested but difficult to get a sliver that thin from an existing larger transfer Now if there was some lining somewhere of the right colour and thickness.... Phil
  6. More progress tonight - D326 coming along nicely Just needs final weathering, crew, headcodes and coupling loops Western Lines Ws are a bit OTT...and anyone got a suggestion on how to get the fine blue line under the number that denoted modified traction motors? Zambesi still waiting for improved underframe brown to be sussed - spray gun maestro Jimbo says manana.... Phil
  7. She sounds perfect for a trundle out to Titley John - or New Radnor perhaps Phil
  8. So the grille is for the train heating boiler and the access cut out are the fuelling valves IIRC There ought to be an easy way to tell A end from B end - but d*mned if I know what it is! Cant find any pictures of D800-2 with either the vent or the cut out - and other low numbered class members may have been built without but had them added retrospectively Phil
  9. Interesting photo! 1971 - 72 wtt has 1A01 as 20.30 Worcester - Padd parcels but it plainly isn't that train - it was booked via Oxford so wouldn't have collected the ex works catering vehicles from Swindon. Train reporting numbers must have changed.... Phil
  10. And that moniker was always a favourite in our games of railway engine name hangman at school... Phil
  11. Cheers Bob We had it working - but then I updated the ECoS firmware and that killed it - until today when I twigged the legacy PC setting requirement. A very kind friend gave me an IPhone 3 that was surplus to requirements so now with a 4 man crew we should be able to roster 1 driver for up trains, one for down trains, a bobby and a yard man Should result in slick operation hopefully Phil
  12. So productive weekend - All locos and stock exams done Signals inspected and repaired as required Iphones linked to ECoS And Jimbo has got D838 ready to join the roster, D1584 not far behind, D326 and D864 may just make it..... Cable testing still to do but all coming together well Phil
  13. Ah cracked it.... Had put ECoS in to PC legacy mode but not restarted .... and that fixed it Cheers Phil
  14. Hi folks Want to use Touchcab but having some issues interfacing with ECoS Edit - sorry should have said ECoS 50200 firmware 4.1.4 Symptoms are: 1. Latched functions wont switch off once switched on 2. Throttle on ECoS responds to Touchcab but display on Touchcab does not ! 3. Loco direction of travel will not reverse on touchcab Am I missing something? Thanks in advance Phil
  15. I don't use anything other than my own name as forum user names so as the first male Bullock child of the next generation my forum name was determined on 26th April 1942 http://www.cwgc.org/find-war-dead/casualty/2042593/BULLOCK,%20PHILIP%20HAROLD Stirling W7506 on charge with 218 squadron - 6 aircraft headed to Pilsen that night, this was the only loss Linked to the recent film Anthropoid if you follow military history Cheers Phil
  16. A one day show to kick the year off - Newbury on 11th Feb Taking a 4 man crew - Pierre and Downendian of this parish plus old school colleague Digby Wall Hoping to have Iphones working so should be some slick operations - and new power on show, D1733, D118 and D854 Tiger plus one or two more.... Phil
  17. Dave Your comments on linesiding in this era are just so true! But wasn't it the joy of not knowing what would turn up that made the trips such an adventure? For me its things like... Warships at New Street and Bescot - oh and a Clayton and Baby Deltic at Bescot too, even if they were scrappers A pair of D65xx at New Street too....D4 at Stourbridge....D200 at Worcester...Kings Cross with Deltics....the list goes on Happy days! Only wish I had your photo record Phil
  18. Indeed - but need to save.....rake of 8 (a 5 and 3 set) is going to cost more than I paid for the Blue Pullman.... Phil
  19. Photos on Bacchy web site today http://Bachmann.co.uk/details.php?id=362 Phil
  20. Cheers Clive ! And yep bolts would be needed..... Phil
  21. Many thanks! Alternative is to buy the departmentals and redo the transfers..... Think I need one of each then to explore..... Phil
