  1. J6526 Cracking motorail rake... BFK...then look at all those FKs , plus RBR I'm guessing car flats on the back? Phil
  2. Jim nice to hear confirmation of that - We have 1662 and 1666 with the appropriate headcodes to work the train past Abbotswood... And on one day in 1971 a Warship - 861 IIRC - made it as far north as Crewe on this working - rare by that time. Kind regards Phil
  3. Fantastic resource thanks for sharing! Flats GUVs and TCVs all fair game for Motorail traffic through Abbotswood in 1972 Cheers Phil
  4. You lucky blighter! in that pose looks like he is trying to hide his signature identity feature from the camera.... Phil
  5. Those goldcrests are great aren't they Neil? As you say often heard but not seen...but the other sunny lunch time there they were in the lower branches of the fir trees in Sandford Park Cheltenham , performing acrobatics as they searched the trees for food. Their golden stripes certainly glowed in the sunshine - a wonderful sight, stood quietly and watched for 5 mins Phil
  6. One very well used document perhaps? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/361489664720?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 Phil
  7. Cracking stuff as always Paul Oooh you've got a blue Mainline/Replica RBR....!!!! On the hunt for one of those - with some close coupling mechanisms fitted plus flush glazing wont be able to tell it apart easily from Bacchy stock - just done an FO to the same standards Phil
  8. Happy to wait for those custom Jobs Steve Know the wait will be worth while.... Kind regards Phil
  9. Cracking photos as always Dave There were 22 peaks in that early blue livery - Russell Saxton lists them here http://www.rmweb.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=49364&start=50 Kind regards Phil
  10. Try this thread http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/73149-bulleid-maunsell-and-hawksworth-coaches-did-they-last-until-the-1970s/ Phil
  11. More cracking shots as always Dave J4351 - But Im afraid the only problem is that 47295 isn't an ETH loco! Looking at the photo is 47506 more likely? She certainly has her ETH jumper in that position https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=CLASS+47+47506&biw=1013&bih=549&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi9ysH7suHKAhXLthoKHSY0AZwQ_AUICCgD#imgrc=CI-12a2FGuELMM%3A Cheers Phil
  12. Struggled to orientate that Gloucester shot initially but can now see its Eastgate looking north I think the birdcage van is an illusion - another vehicle behind the train perhaps? Phil
  13. More Smashing stuff Dave I reckon that 37 in J2484 is one of the 6960 - 6968 air braked series allocated to Stratford - the additional lamp bracket above the headcode box is the give away, haven't seen that fitting on any others. Freightliner would be AB working of course Terminal digit looks like a 7 perhaps which would make it 6967 Cheers Phil
  14. Great stuff! Explosives traffic was for Penrhyndeudraeth (had to check the spelling of that!) IIRC Cheers Phil
  15. Coming along nicely Neil! Cant see on your photo - had you twigged she has different pattern cab handrails at either end? Phil
  16. Just needs some passing traffic to polish those rail tops.... Superb job fella.... Phil
  17. Agreed - an extension to turn the lamp mounting through 90 degrees, presumably so a standard BR lamp could be mounted on a WR pattern lamp iron which were originally at right angles to everybody elses.... Of course Swindon knew best.... Phil
  18. Ah yes the extension Spent £1600 on the car in the last 3 months hence progress financially stymied....Front brake pads and discs - service - MOT - gearbox linkage cables - clutch - clutch fork - starter motor....Its nearly a new car! Next month hopefully... Although Norton Junction bridge is built, Stubby of this parish is doing the signal box for us, and the C&W dept has expanded the roster to seven rakes of coaches so sufficient there to populate phase 2, 3 warships done and another 4 currently in works so chipping away at the work.... Phil
  19. A Youtube landmark yesterday - total views reached 400,000! Link on signature below. There are a couple of aircraft videos in there too.... Its interesting to look at the way things split The "When Model Railways Go Wrong" clip still accounts for over 75% of the views - and mostly from the other side of the Atlantic The other 25% mainly consists of our attempts at representing prototypical UK operations and largely comes from this side of the pond. Many folks on here have posted kind comments - many thanks for your support folks, more to come this year... Cheers Phil
  20. Dave C1528/9 fascinated by that location, couldn't place it ... I reckon you were at 52°18'46.24"N 2°12'20.44"W - on the south westerly of the two bridges looking north east, Sneads Green nearest village, that's Hartlebury's down distant in front of the other bridge An area not often seen in photos - many thanks for sharing, remember batting along there at a fair lick in Swindon 120s on Worcester to Brum trains in the late 60s/early 70s Phil
