  1. If I can do it so can you! Just have a look at MSE Phil
  2. Hope my MSE signals didn't put you off!!!! Hee hee Taking over the kitchen? In your house sounds like its a case of whilst Minnie Mouse is away the cat will play?????? Great fun! Phil
  3. Carry on as you are with the layout Paul and it will certainly be of the right quality! I suppose the best way to look at it is that its two and a half sound fitted locos... Phil
  4. You are right - it is! But its one that will stand you in good stead although I am just debating whether to buy the new RC remotes which doubles the cost. Good for exhibitions but you probably wouldn't need that for home use Phil
  5. What did you think of ECoS when you had a play Paul? But certainly not cheap Phil
  6. Was looking for the shed code pad on the posted images on the Bacchy web site but couldn't see the area clearly As you say Mark an easy fix with an etch - perhaps a reversed etched shed plate with a couple of drilled holes and a square hole in the centre might fit the bill if Bachmann don't fix it for us? Cheers Phil
  7. Cheers Mark Those are nice - but I rather think someone else on here has cornered the market in the second hand Lima models - the underframe etches really look superb. I have a problem however - which project do I do? Too much work for me to build a complete train hence my query to Dave Kind regards Phil
  8. Continuing the wagon theme Dave would you consider a Bogie Bolster E ? See post 294 in http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/11410-abbotswood-junction/page-12 As Bachmann and Hornby both have visually similar wagons in their range I cant see them taking it up but there are certainly others on here who would support - 20 for us please! Phil
  9. I tried to make it in to that too Mike - as you say given the shed plate 1884 would be a better fit Cheer Phil
  10. Hee hee 60017 beckons soon! Sure you'll find a copy in Liverpool Paul - I have bought up the local supplies here!!!! Phil
  11. Wonderful Dave! I reckon the Peak in C857 is my old friend (D)15 following its repair and replacement of split headcode boxes and nose end doors with a centre headcode box. As to 1634 in C824 - do you think its 1834? 1634 was a western lines loco and had the usual W under the numbers which are lacking here - https://www.flickr.com/photos/59835095@N02/6263062449/in/set-72157627649152349 - also that looks like a black ER depot code sticker although according to Class 47.co.uk that wasn't an ER loco either. What a fascinating era Phil Phil
  12. Yup - and once again have voted for bobol Es in the poll this year! Any ways this months edition of the Hornby mag is out - and look whats on the cover http://www.hornbymagazine.com/central/images/covers/large/5823.jpg Thanks to Mike Wild for giving us the coverage, Trevor Jones for the super photos and Kevin Derrick for being the first to grab a copy. Phil
  13. Time for some more of Brian Thomas's super pictures UID Whizzo on what must be Longbridge - Swindon. No headboard clips? That must help with ID! A lot of freights were type 4s - look at those lovely Bolster Es, if that was heading north I would have suggested that was a Llandeilo Jct - Langley Green - but its heading south! And again a type 4 hauled freight. Cheers Bri! Phil
  14. Back from Croatia at the weekend - stayed on island of Kolocep just off Dubrovnik Not developed much other than the hotel site and only 180 non holiday residents Butterfly population was wonderful - many UK species such as clouded yellows, speckled woods and wherever ivy was in flower numerous red admirals. Species can be pleomorphic across their range - the painted ladies were rather darker and more metallic looking than those seen in the UK. Also banks of wild cyclamen in flower - beautiful Phil
  15. Hi Dave Wonderful shots as always - the best era! However that Class 45 in C190 isn't - its a 44 of course, headcode discs and always special Cheers Phil
  16. Ah yes - think we pass that en route to Henley! Phil
  17. Looks like N gauge ballast? Way to go! Phil
  18. Which one is that Mike? Think I owe you several pints! Phil
  19. That's the trouble with DCC sound - do you ever catch up? Phil
  20. Have used Paul's trick on Abbotswood - vary the wire thickness to suit the installation Works well Phil
  21. Great progress PAul! Soz haven't dropped in before - what with Redditch show and a week in Croatia life has been busy CHeers Phil
  22. Having tried to do them convincingly on a 42 and I will be happy either way iirc the vent holes the headcodes panels were a depot mod - was it Ooc? They varied from loco to loco so might not be a surprise if bacchy haven't done them but should be an easy fix Phil
