  1. One thing I do after every show is create a log of the problems/issues that come up during the show. I now have a record going back to 1997. It's interesting looking back at the problems I used to have. As the problems get sorted out, I tick them off, making sure I've dealt with all of them before the next show. I also have a "countdown calendar", this is based on the number of Sundays before the next show, about 15 left before Clutton's next outing.
  2. Coming together Captain. Nice urban feel to it.
  3. Yes, that area has changed a lot, here is the same area back in '78.
  4. Water is highly reflective, so no need to kill the shinyness.
  5. By coincidence, I was out with my camera today, gorgeous sunshine. Kennet & Avon - certainly some blue in that water A few weeks back I was on the Wilts & Berks, not much blue, but not much blue in the sky either.
  6. The canal reflects the sky, if the sky's blue, there's a good chance the canal will be blue. What I have never seen is the bottom - the water is not clear.
  7. For inspiration http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=-1217856436373470397 Have you looked at Barry Norman's scenery DVDs? That includes suggestions of painting.
  8. I'd suggest an acrylic sheet, painted underneath. You'll get that undisturbed gloss effect on top with the impression of depth and dirt.
  9. What condition is the canal in? Is it working or closed? Canals very quickly become covered in growth when they aren't used. There may not be much water visible.
  10. RMweb is blocked, however, I spend too much time on that already - so it's no great loss. After all, the world isn't going to stop if I don't reply.....
  11. Yes, but the shed at Wells is still standing, in a public place as well!
  12. I forgot to say there are hundreds of ex company Ford Focus estates around. Some of them are on extremely high miles. Some are low milers. Plenty of choice. Buy the right one and you won't regret it.
  13. Problem with vans is that on ordinary roads, they have lower speed restrictions.
  14. Interesting. What period are you thinking of running it in? Pictures of trains at Camerton are rare indeed.
  15. Well, I just posted a comment - in Firefox - which didn't take, so now I'm fed up. I'll type again - in IE8 - a diffeent browser. You lot don't want much! Just took some photos, but now find I can't attach them to this blog. Just as well, as they look rubbish up close, like most of my modelling!
  16. Just been having fun painting some of the people and animals, I'm inspired by the article in the August 10 Toddler by Rachel Drummond. Quite easy - when you know how! When you look at it real close, I haven't got anywhere near what Rachel did! Yes - three foxes in a row......
  17. I've had a play as you suggested, and using the standard browser, I can post on RMweb. However, it doesn't display the pages anything like as well as my preferred browser Firefox. So currently I'm living with viewing on Firefox, and if I feel motivated to reply on the phone, switch to the stock browser.
  18. Try posting that question on an Android forum. Are you able to post comments on RMweb via your tablet? I cannot using my phone.
  19. It is worth checking on price comparison sites, I ran mine through, and the same insurer I was with before gave a quote £130 less than they had quoted on my renewal! They hope you are too lazy to shop around.
  20. So there you are, 150 miles from home, it's dark, you're on your own and they have just shut the motorway. It's at that point you need the SatNav.
  21. Definitely the Olympics. Then the next frenzy around the Football World Cup.
  22. Riding my motorbike and waving at the bike coming the other way.
