  1. It is only ever ER’s where this happens. Is our allocated share of server space full? (of ******)? Have the admins shifted us to 64Mb dial up to save the rest of RMweb? Do the computer generated images offend the computer generated guardians of bandwidth usage? Have we overstayed our welcome?
  2. It was only ever Geography teachers who used more than one colour carbon paper. I guess you already knew that.
  3. But only one letter. Bandwagon, jumping on, for the use of.
  4. Do they own the stock? On their website they say that they raise funds for the purchase of stock for the NYMR. No stock appears as assets in their accounts.
  5. For point motors that are relatively close together it might be better to run multicore cable from the switches. Or create a ‘loom’ using cable ties. Purely to keep the wiring neater.
  6. Have you given up on the idea of replacing the tension locks with a wire loop?
  7. So Tennants and Irn-Bru are classed as fruit after all. That will be good news for those trying to meet their ‘five a day’. Now if Tunnock’s could also be classed as a fruit ….
  8. I may be being naive, thick, or both, but why on earth would he be asked to do that?
  9. That’s definitely ‘out of gauge’ in places. Just like me. Seriously though, an excellent show, thanks to all involved. The highlight for me was looking along the length of South Pelaw at all the exquisite signalling. An awesome sight.
  10. Hi Rob. That is a neat renumbering job. When you say that the speaker was ‘courtesy of Accurascale’ do you mean they provided a free replacement to correct the impedance or did you have to buy it? Is it just a case of snapping the new one in place and plugging it in?
  11. Will have absolutely everything crossed for @Dave Hunt tomorrow.
  12. Am I correct in thinking that that doesn’t solve the impedance problem though.
  13. That would solve WCRC’s problem with the Jacobite.
  14. I don’t want to speculate or start speculation but it seems strange to me that the lead unit looks severely derailed but that the second unit has passed over and remained on the track. If I’m reading the location of the hole correctly from that video. I guess I will just have to wait for the report to find out the ins and outs of it.
  15. The only saving grace, if you can call it that, was that it happened at 1.30 a.m. A very small crumb of comfort - but sadly not for those affected.
  16. I think we need a ‘scratches head’ button.
  17. According to National Rail website that work is scheduled to finish tomorrow. Whether it does or not …
  18. Forgive my ignorance, but what contract is that? With Network Rail? Given that the Jacobite has been running since Nineteen Eighty Dot I’m guessing the renewal must have happened automatically - unlike their ORR exemption - which they presumed would be automatic.
  19. A car park for the heritage line with a bit more undergrowth and bushes on the lower part of the embankment?
  20. Nowhere in their statement do they mention Harry Potter. In fact their entire blurb on the website is about the line and scenery itself. They do briefly mention that the Glenfinnan viaduct was used as a setting for Harry Potter but only in a wider description of the viaduct itself. As you and others have said this will probably be down to licensing but It would appear that it is others and particular the press that are making the Jacobite into the Harry Potter train and not WCRC. Not officially anyway and not that they would have discouraged it in any way.
  21. If it’s all down to the Harry Potter power why doesn’t he just say Centricus Lockitus Fixitus or something like that. Strewth, I’m so embarrassed I even thought of that.
