  1. Morning all. -2 and a heavy frost, so car warming up whilst I finish a muggacoffee. Kids most excited at the prospect/possiblity of snow this time tomorrow... Have a good day all
  2. Morning all Monday morning already. Enjoying a muggacoffee before getting the girls up. Feels quite chilly but not nearly as cold as we are promised tomorrow. Back in the office today after Friday's trip to London, so hopefully it will go smoothly! Hope everyone's day is as successful as possible.
  3. Tesco was cancelled this morning in favour of 'a change', so we went to Morrisons, where Leah was particularly amazed by the foot long sausage rolls, and Hannah got a swimming costume for our forthcoming first holiday with her (which reminds me, I must pay the balance of tomorrow!) Thanks for the supportive 'clicks' on my last, very much appreciated. One positive from the 'discussion' was SWMBO's desire that I get back into doing 'something' - I've stepped away from football for several reasons and had allowed myself to get stuck in a rut, spending a lot of evenings sitting in the chair doing very little of note. Long and the short of it is modelling is very much back on the agenda and supported, so tonight has been mostly spent fiddling with XtrkCad to see what I can come up with...!
  4. Morning all Tesco Grand Prix later (ugh...), but few other plans for today as far as I'm aware. A much improved atmosphere this morning too, after an at times difficult but very much needed conversation yesterday around finances and the division of bills. Feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders somewhat. It's good to talk. Hope everyone's day goes as well as hoped.
  5. Morning all Yesterday's London trip went well - minor delays on the way up, but the journey home was very smooth - tube pulling in just as I reached the platform at Liverpool Street, then a 7 minute wait at Farringdon for the Thameslink to Haywards Heath, where it was 10 minutes till the train to Polegate. This morning we are off to ballet, and I will need to go over to Southwick to drop some forms off - a 45 minute trip to put two pieces of paper through a letterbox, which seems mad in 2019. I am not quite sure why the league think a registration form which has been scanned and sent is going to be any different in hard copy... Hope everyone's day goes as well as hoped.
  6. Morning all. Very sorry to hear Mal's news and thoughts are very much with him and his family. Off to London town for a work meeting today.
  7. Morning all It's -3.5 Celsius outside at the moment, and a very thick frost. Muggacoffee on the go whilst car warming up! Still, nearly the weekend! Hope everyone's day goes as well as can be hoped for.
  8. Morning all Certainly cold here, but no frost - must have warmed up, as there was a light covering when I went to the bins late last night. Muggacoffee on the go, and then it will be off to work - Hope all have a successful day
  9. A new phone system at work today. The tech is quite good, and there are some useful features, but the impression that we are being turned into a call centre rather than the customer service department we used to be is even more increased... Will have another search of the job boards this evening. Better news later, after I left early to take Hannah to an audiology appointment after she was diagnosed with glue ear shortly after birth. All clear, perfect hearing for her age, no concerns and discharged!
  10. Morning all Back to work today and feels like another cold one. Muggacoffee going down nicely. Hope all have a good day.
  11. We 'decided' to share 'our' Frazzles at lunchtime...
  12. Unexpectedly back in the armchair! Babysitter unwell, so have taken a days emergency leave to look after Hannah. Can't say I'm too disappointed, it's bitterly cold and a water main has burst on the bypass so traffic grim. Should be able to take as paid annual leave as well. She is now asleep, so muggacoffee number 2 and a flick through the David Wright book on Modelling Rural Buildings at the moment.
  13. Morning all. Additional sleep won out over the blood moon for me I'm afraid - although at 5am I'm not entirely sure if I remembered why I'd set that particular alarm! Breakfast and muggacoffee on the go, can hear Hannah chatting to herself in her cot, so will go and get the girls up imminently. Hope all have a successful day.
  14. Morning all An early start this morning with both girls deciding they wanted to get up at about 6.15... Sal took Hannah into bed and I came downstairs to doze on the sofa whilst Leah read her book. Woke properly freezing, so the heating has gone on! Sunday is food shopping day here, so we have the joys of Tesco to look forward to shortly. Hope all have a successful Sunday.
  15. Morning all Saturday means ballet and Warhammer club, so lots of driving this morning. Hopefully this week will be accomplished without a puncture! Not sure what the plans are after that, no football today. Have a good day all!
  16. For those who like their war novels; One of those books I wish that I hadn't read, so that I could have the joy of reading it again for the first time. Absolutely superb.
  17. Morning all A more relaxed start to the morning than yesterday! Cold out and looks like a thick frost on car. Was supposed to get down to -4 last night, although I'm not sure if it actually did get that far. Muggacoffee on the go, the girls to get up and dressed next. Roll on 4.30!
  18. A very enjoyable issue. The Wainwright D towards the back is an absolute work of art.
  19. Morning all. Alarm malfunction (or me accidentally turning it off perhaps!) caused panic here this morning, so a very quick muggacoffee and ear spray - and now off to work!
  20. I too have now joined the ranks of the medicating ERs, albeit on a far more minor level than some. Have had a dull numbness in my left ear for a couple of weeks, but some discharge earlier made me make an appointment at Sal's insistence. Turns out she was right, I have an infection of the outer eardrum. Antibiotics a possibility, but until the swab comes back I have a spray, which really is a most unpleasant sensation. 'Pizza topped chicken' (a tomato based concoction on top of grilled chicken breast) for tea, then I have been summoned to drive to Eastbourne and collect some clothes for Hannah which SWMBO has arranged to buy on Facebook marketplace this afternoon.
  21. Morning all, happy Wednesday. Chilly start here, but not as cold as we are promised over the coming week or so. Muggacoffee on the go then off to work - got to pay for this holiday somehow!
  22. Holiday booked - we are off to Looe for a week in April. Been about 20 years since I last went to Cornwall and over a year since we last went away, so very much looking forward to it. Pleased to say that the Bodmin and Wenford Railway is very much on the 'things to do' list!
  23. Morning all Muggacoffee on the go whilst I ponder which way to go to work this morning. There are 3 potential routes, and it seems a game of total chance every morning as to which will be snarled up or free flowing. At least it makes things 'interesting' every day! Tonight's task when back home will be to book a holiday. Hope that all have a good a day as circumstances permit.
  24. Morning all Monday again, so a muggacoffee and a brief few moments to relax before getting the kids up. Glad Stevenage went well and hope that the week gets off to a good a start as it is able.
  25. Morning all A relaxed start to Sunday is about to be over with the Tesco run imminent, however I'm sure it won't be as fraught as yesterday morning turned out to be regardless!
