  1. 418 in current day mode is pretty much original. As @Torbay Expresssays the modern AS model covers those with DRS (and not all DRS 37s as I’ve mentioned on here before) - so has the LED tail lights, multi socket, plated bodyside window and the strengthened front windscreens. Some of the current DRS 37s (401/407/422/424) have all these mods but they retain the bodyside window.
  2. That must be tough to take. Sorry to hear. I agree re 610, it looks smart. I’ve a 607 on order but it’s not staying blue… @McC@Accurascale Fran don’t go and spoil it 😜
  3. Sorry to hear, hope things are picking up. I’m looking forward to seeing how you backdate 610 🤣🤣🤣
  4. I bought 3 despite not having a layout, just to have a play 🤣
  5. Amazing. Thanks for sharing. Have you been on to the spares department yet then 🤣 looking forward to seeing how you get rid of the LED taillights and open out the bodyside window. edit - just saw your later post and suspect you aren’t doing as major surgery as I suspected 🤭
  6. Always. The Accurascale guys spoilt my plans to recreate tango 405 with one of the first releases by announcing it in batch 2, so I need to get creative 🤣
  7. “Hello Accurascale spares department. Can I please have a pair of 37001 doors, some 37425 windscreens and a 37425 roof panel please” 🤣 - can you guess which loco I want to model?!
  8. I’m wondering if I can swap the windscreens with 425 and create a modern split box!
  9. And once you’ve had your fill you can flog it on eBay 🤣
  10. If you’ve not heard one, you won’t be disappointed.
  11. Don’t know if this helps, but it’s the same size as this ESU speaker - I don’t know whether it’s the same as an EM1 or EM2.
  12. It does indeed look good. My comment re 37800 is that it’s a good base. Blanking the window is easier than meddling with windowframes!
  13. They’re a minefield. So the Bachmann 37/4 is perfect for any 37/4 pre-DRS. Those overhauled by HNRC for DRS got the plates side windows and reinforced windscreens and LED taillights - 402, 405, 409, 419 and 425.This is the spec that AS have chosen for their initial 37/4 offering so reusing them for other locos is difficult if you’re a rivet counter like me 🤣 401, 407, 422 and 424/558 have the LED taillights and reinforced windscreens but not the plated side windows. That means you can model these from AS 37422 when it comes out. With some work the Bachmann 37/4 model is perfect for various 37/4, 37/5 and 37/7 models pre 2000, and as mentioned a base for 37800 as well. Of course Bachmann have announced 37175 in Colas which should have the reinforced windscreens so I’m looking forward to seeing that.
  14. Not putting John’s model down - John and I are friends and we had this discussion already - the windows are wrong on the 430 base model as they’re not the reinforced type introduced initially on the DRS 37s then the Colas ones. The AS model correctly depicts the reinforced type, which is why I was going to use one to respray into 405 until they spoilt my fun by announcing it 🤣🤣🤣 I’m just waiting to see someone do a 430 as 800 as it does have the right windows for that!
  15. On a separate point related to Bruce’s earlier. I’ve got both side by side now and I’ve sung the praises of the Bachmann model. The windows in particular. But I am blown away by the Accurascale model, it’s absolutely fantastic. Now I’ve looked closely I think the Bachmann windows might be too flat - the AS ones have a definite curve. You the punter will decide but for me the AS is the better.
  16. Exciting stuff. I know there was much debate on the other thread about glazing. The AS glazing looks like laserglaze. It’s fabulous.
  17. My 3 have arrived and they look fabulous. I’m happy enough with the windows and the glazing is exceptional. Now where are the weathering paints?
