  1. Hi Guys, thought I'd share a few pics of some recent(ish) Tug workings from around the Solent area. It's been really good to see the 60's getting out and about more around the South, and long may it continue! It'd be quite nice to get some of the "celebrity" ones down here, such as the TCT Blue one or the TaTa Steel Silver one. First up is 60019 "Port of Grimsby & Immingham" at Eastleigh on 3rd November with 0Z37 L/E move from Westbury to Eastleigh. Took me by surprise when it turned up! It later left on a hefty load of 3 Salmon as 6Z37 back to Westbury. Unfortunatley not a very good picture due to the light and my iffy photo skills, but 60015 passes Lee, between Millbrook and Romsey, with 6V41 Eastleigh - Westbury engineers on 13th November. For the second time this year, a Tug worked the Fawley oil trip and it was the same loco too! The gen that morning said that a Tug was to work the Marchwood MOD trip, but due to insuficient traffic it didn't run. Instead 60091 turned up on the 6B93 Eastleigh - Fawley and 6B94 return working. I wasn't complaining! Tug '91 is first seen at Pooksgreen, outside Marchwood, with the working to Fawley before being captured again on the return at Millbrook on 29th November. (Video here:) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnfeeZGs-4s&list=UUjfKIChqA-xVzB0xSH9PSSg&index=2) Cheers, Andy.
  2. Hi Guys, thought I'd share a couple of pics of my 85. Thanks to a good friend who shared his photos, I renumbered it as 85102, as it lasted until 1991. Used Fox Transfers and the weathering was done by myself, although it does look a bit better at "normal" distances, honest! One thing I didn't notice until after I'd weathered it was the TOPS panel was moved further down the cabside... It's a super model, would like to get another one and do it as 85110, as that lasted into 1990. Cheers, Andy.
  3. Went out for a tug, it came.

  4. Thanks for that Mick! Would you happen to know what its return working was? Andy
  5. Fresh off the camera (well, apart from a trim to remove the guy on the platform!), 60007 "The Spirit of Tom Kendell" thunders through Newport with a Steel working at around 12:45. It came back through on different wagons at about 16:30 heading towards Cardiff. No idea what it was working, was well off my normal "patch" of the Southampton area! Will have to do some digging to ID everything else I saw as well! Andy.
  6. is now on TOPS!

  7. Read through the last few pages and noticed a bit of an omission. On Thursday 14th June, 60091 worked the 6B94 Fawley - Eastleigh oil train, where I captured it heading past Millbrook. It of course worked the service into Fawley from Eastleigh. I believe it also worked Fawley train on the 15th as well. I did want to catch '091 on the branch as it's just a stones throw from the house, but couldn't think of anywhere to get a decent shot of it! It's been a long time since I can remember a Tug working on the branch. Anyway, there's some great shots on here, would like to catch 6B33 sometime. Looks like an impressive train! Andy.
  8. So, the Class 56 gains a new livery. That means another Blue one in 2013 from Hornby

  9. SwiftCover: "best value insurance provider". Really? Explain why my car insurance just doubled.

That's "best value" compared to rivals. Not necessarily best value for you.

  11. A bit late I know, but on the 17th Feb I caught 70018 at Shawford working the Birch Coppice 'liner (it's "debut" run from the South I think?). When it passed, there was a a fairly strong oil smell which lingered for a bit. It seemed more suited to a knackered 37! I though it a bit odd as the others I've caught there never emitted such a pong. Andy.

  13. Here in South Hampshire, there's been none (that I'm aware off at least!). At it's worst, it was rain which cleaned the car nicely. Although, this was how it looked last year, with 6" of the stuff. Never seen it that bad, and probably won't for a good time to come. It was funny watching it all on the news, only to look out the window and see a wee patch of Sun breaking through the cloud! Andy.
