  1. Living not more than a few miles away from Piercebridge (had our wedding reception at the George hotel) and Gainford! keeping an interested eye on this project!
  2. I'm currently weathering my Motorail car flats, using acrylic cream/light brown mix then weathering powders, the wood is left a little darker intentionally due to 70/80's car oil leaks!

  6. Hi, the 'Three to the sea' railtour was May 2nd 1987, looking at 20 064 closely it has the Thornaby Kingfisher logo so must have been transferred when the photo was taken.
  7. Whilst waiting to book our Transit into the fleet repairer today out of the blue this pulls up with a Nov 1980 Coles crane on the back! reg- HYN 397W. An unexpected leap back to the 80's

  13. Yes they are the Bachmann Sea-link MK1's. The intention is to have 3 more than the 2 pictured at the rear of the railtour rake making it load 11.Here is one of the 2 completed coaches after weathering.

  15. Class 47 - 47 520 heads south on Sunday with ECS from a Saturday railtour in late summer 1987.
  16. 56 013 enters the Up loop at Charwelton on a gloomy Saturday afternoon with a Didcot bound MGR train.
  17. Well after a lot of work wiring the layout is now up and undergoing DCC testing. We couldn't resist getting some stock out though after track cleaning and here we see 56 013 entering the loop with 30 loaded HAA hoppers.

  20. Well I thought I would have some fun and create a Newcastle - Poole window destination poster. Only problem is how to get it down to 4mm
  21. We have 2 wood burning stoves and have had the first installed now for over 10 years, when lit they give out no visible smoke and are odourless when stood outside! We're currently burning 3 year seasoned wood through a thorough drying regime and have our chimneys swept every 2 years with less soot than can fill a small supermarket carrier bag to show for the sweeps best efforts. So at present we will will carry on with our current lifestyle and personally have no regrets or concerns environmentaly or health related! As an aside- Christmas morning with the woodburner lit and presents being opened will be a priceless memory for us and the kids for many years I hope!!

  23. Whilst I agree that most phones are rarely used I have had to rely on lineside/SPT's on numerous occasions whilst on track due to the unfortunate dislike of the iPhone to cold weather. Not good when you have taken a set of points for maintenance from the signaller and he wants to run an EP!
