  3. Stayed next to Connolly station but sadly didn't make it into the Brewdock. Currently on the Guiness Storehouse tour before flight home.
  4. Visiting Dublin for our anniversary and I can say the hospitality is great along with some excellently kept beers! Not had a Guiness yet but my good lady wife says it's very good!
  5. With DCC update well underway focus has also had to be aimed at stock issues- Dave's initial research has focused on ETH stock and the following train movements that would/may have still used the Great Central are to be tackled first- 1O19 08.05 Newcastle - Poole Booked for ETH 45 or 47 1086 14.00 Leeds/Hull - Brighton Booked ETH 45 or 47 1E45 06.50 Paddington - Leeds/Hull Booked for any ETH loco and noted with 31,45,47 & 50 1E63 09.40 Poole- Newcastle Booked ETH 45 or 47
  6. Hackney Wick 3D from iPad Maps. Not taking any credit though if it's correct as I trawled the sectional appendix and other sites including maps but didn't pick it out myself.
  7. A big thanks to all the visiting exhibitors, traders & members of the public that came to our show over the weekend from all at the Darlington club.
  8. Work continues at pace! Well apart from Fish & Chips
  9. Set up underway with Locomotion No1 overseeing proceedings!
  10. Hi Mike, there are limited spaces directly outside the museum entrance including disabled with the main car park only a short walk to the entrance (the museum may also open the field to park in as it's been dry but this is out of our hands). There is also on street parking with no restrictions on Station Rd and McNay St only a short stroll.
  11. Admittedly a nice pint even if it is from Hartlep**l
  12. One man's poison as the saying goes- it's all down to,personal taste so no slagging off you will be glad to know! I make an exception for John Smiths though Tonight's post match tipple is from Masham - Venus & Mars a very nice Black Sheep Ale!
  13. As announced the A1 Steam trust will be opening their doors on Saturday 1st for an opportunity to view the P2 currently under construction. Well worth a visit if your coming to the show Saturday! https://www.p2steam.com/
  14. As I'm currently involved in re-wiring two layouts that are 20 years and 30 years old (one to DCC and the other a DC re-wire) I can confirm that neither are 2 wires!!! The DCC layout (Charwelton to DCC) has over 700 individual track feeds in the fiddle yard alone going to 2 separate bus-bars, the front will have 3 bus-bars when completed. Enjoying both re-wires equally with my personal preference DCC after several years assisting exhibiting Thorne yard and various other projects. -Andy.
  15. A good morning across the Grand Union at Lapworth with the sound of trains passing on the line just north of Warwick.
  16. A bit 'off the wall' tonight for a post match beer with a very silly IPA from the Black Sheep brewery at Masham- Monty Python's Flying Circus IPA 4.5%! I didn't take up the food match though- Bereft of life Norwegian Blue parrot with a wafer-thin mint to finish! Very silly!
  17. 37 033 awaits 'the road' with a ballast working from Thorne Yard in the summer of 1987.
  18. One milestone reached today as the fiddle yard wiring has now been converted to DCC! Board 9 basks in the sun shortly after completion!
  19. Damn, almost guessed at the 'best'! But I will take 50% Old Peculiar is one of the best beers I have tasted and I think I could happily retire to Masham! (Pronounced 'Massam' as my father-in-law was vociferously reminded by a local last time we visited).
  20. I'm guessing Old Pec. & and Lightfoot for the beers but I'm darned if I can get the brewery
  21. I would be happy for Wolverhampton to keep it!
  22. Yorkshire Dales brewery- Askrigg Ale for a post World Cup BBQ beer tonight- 4.3% and a beer as beautiful as the village and surroundings it's named after!
  23. A Durham brew!! Ps is it the Lambton Worm pub near Ouston next to the ECML? Seem to remember passing it a few times when we covered faults up towards Tyne Yard! -Andy
