  1. Just to confirm what has been mentioned above, Ruddington Model Railway Club will have in operation: 'Ruddington' (4mm Scale OO gauge), 'Millhouse Lane' (7mm Scale O gauge), 'Barry's Island' (7MM Scale O gauge outdoor circuit) and 'Thomas Island' (4mm Scale OO gauge Children's Layout) We will also be showing off our building extension which is finished internally and just awaiting the new layouts building. We're hoping to house a couple of members layouts in here for the event depending on staffing numbers. We'll have the gazebo up outside with out sales stall inside selling a large amount of second hand members and club stock along with a small quantity of new sales stock kindly provided by the 47401 Project / 13809 LMS 7F Group.
  2. Just reserved a open cab Ruston. Very suitable for the club layout.
  3. Bachmann's Tin Tabernacle is based on the preserved example which is Ex Westhouses, Derbyshire. Now at Swanwick Junction in a slightly shorter form.
  4. Just got my two MSC versions. Absolutely beautiful little models. The only slight criticism is the plastic whistle on the cab roof as they;re quite flimsy. Just ordered two Markits NE whistles to replace them. Mine will both be getting the number 11's taken off and named once the Narrow Planet pates arrive.
  5. Any chance of someone who's got the MSC version measuring up the number plate on the saddle tank for me? I've got two on order to be renumbered but won't be getting them until mid Jan. Would like to get the plates ordered ASAP. thanks in advance!
  6. When the road bridge was strengthened, sympathetic to the original structure blue brick arches were built underneath the original flat decks. This has therefore made the trackbed narrower and no longer able to take a twin track arrangement each side.
  7. I'd definitely loose the voice recordings. Hope its more reliable than their signals. Two fitted so far and two failed so not overly confident!
  8. Got my Yellow one this morning too. A nicely detailed model, however my only criticism is I would have liked it to weigh a bit more straight out of the box. Maybe I'm used to the heavy weight of the Hornby / Dapol version but this version feels a bit light footed. Plenty of room in the saddle tank for extra weight though. Time will tell how well a motor that small handles OO gauge loads. Edit - also can't get it back in the box properly with the tension locks fitted..grrrrrrr
  9. Ruddington Model Railway Club are at the GCR model show this weekend. Why not come and see us.
  10. Appears we're not allowed to express opinion on here anymore!

  12. Really hope my post regarding the price this morning has not been deleted by admin. It's disapeared and I havent deleted it! Even had a post rating on it so it definitely was there! Nice choice of unit but the price is crazy for an unpowered model.

    Dapol 08

Sounds nice but unfortuntely an 08's engine RPM doesn't increase in notch 1 or two, you get more more to the traction motors via resistance banks, so you shouldn't hear any change in engine note.
  14. Turns out I did order one. A nice lady from Hattons phoned on Sunday tlling me my card had been declined due to expiry. Now on its way to sunny Nottinghamshire!
  15. I'm sure I pre ordered one of the green versions from Hattons ages ago. I'd check but seeing as I've lost my password for the site, it won't let me reset and also my debit card has since expired, hopefully they'll ring me if infact I had pre ordered one!
  16. Can't see anything wrong with making money on ebay. I don't get the whinging that goes off on here about it. Its like selling your house to someone who then goes to sell it again for more money and being p*ssed off. If someone can make money from selling something then good for them.
  17. Layout wiring is 90% finished and is now switchable between DC and DCC. The club has invested in a NCE PowerCab controller which is perfect for our needs. The new point switches have been added on to the existing control panel for the time being as we're going to operate a few months of the 2016 season before designing a new one to iron out any niggling faults. We're also on the lookout for new members to helo operate our three layouts. Come and see us at the Great Central Railway - Nottingham to find out more.
  18. They've just put it on the news section of their website http://Dapol.co.uk/index.php?route=information%2Fnews&news_id=140#.Vl1xWOKAnnd
  19. This Sunday is one not to be missed at Ruddington Model Railway. As part of the layout rewire testing, the layout this Sunday will operate under DCC control for the first time. It is hoped to have a good array of locomotives running including some sound fitted examples so listen out for them toots and whistles. During our winter shut down period, the layouts rewire will be completed removing annoying power drops, excess wiring and cutting down power consumption but will most importantly enable the layout to be easily switched between DC and DCC control catering for all the interests of our current and prospective members. Along with the remodelling of the fiddle yard area to create two dedicated "run through" lines, the layout will re-emerge early 2016 running efficiently and effectively for many years to come.
  20. Ruddington Model Railway Club is based at the Great Central Railway - Nottingham, home of the Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre. RMRC own and run their OO Gauge layout "Ruddington" which is based on the Great Central Railways - Ruddington Station as it was in the 1950's and 60's. The layout is currently undergoing a layout rewire which after completion during the winter shut down will enable it be be fully DC & DCC compatible. The club also has a large end to end O Gauge layout based on a GWR countryside station and a OO Gauge Thomas layout. Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre, Mere way Ruddington Nottinghamshire NG11 6JS
  21. A quick video of mine running on Ruddington Model Railway Clubs layout "Ruddington" at the GCRN. The loco has be partially weathered and basically now just needs a blow over with the airbrush when I dig it out.
  22. Certainly are nice models and the new wheels really set them off. So nice I bought two!
  23. Received my two today. Also interesting to note is that the tender is geared up speakers etc so there could be a TTS sound version on the cards. The picture on the box also shows wires between the loco and tender which the actual model doesn't feature.
