  1. Small ones still available in the Ripley, Derbyshire store as of yesterday.
  2. Were I used to volunteer has 2 BR built RMB's. 1802 which was the first RMB preserved back in the early 80's is on its original BR1's and doesn't half bounce even walking through it. Ries very well though despite the wheel flat. 1862 which has Commonwealths is a lot more solid and actually rides higher.
  3. A quick wipe of some rust coloured weathering ink over the LED front will taint the light enough to look like bulbs.
  4. Heljan have just posted this on their Facebook page.....

Motor prices etc, my Uncle buys motors in by the hundred from Hong Kong that are 5 pole and strapped to a precision reduction gear box for about £6 each. £25 each sounds a rather large exaggeration by Hornby.

The railroad 9F also has a 5 pole with flywheel fitted.
  7. I've asked this question as have been told not at the moment. Email Bachmann and show your interest on some and you never know....... On another note, Baldwin No.778 and a Class D wagon were transported over from Barwell today ready for the Midland Railex. We couldn't resist pairing the consist up with Ashover No.4.
  8. An update on my dodgy chassis. I've managed to get drive back on to one axle, however whilst is quite leading it chatters and grinds when the unpowered axle is taking lead. I'm stumped on what to do with it now other than to either sit it in a siding or dump the thing on ebay and get what I can. Ended up leaving the lights and circuit boards out. I'm quite patient when reassembling models however this one would have seem me throw it at the wall!
  9. Couple of pics of the RNAD wagons at the GVLR. Including a brake van.
  10. I've got a DCC sound Lima 47 (heavily detailed ad resprayed) and it runs better than my Bachmann one! Original Lima pancake too!
  11. All the model torque motors were was a CD tray motor with mounting cradle and gear attached with a hefty profit margin slapped on top. The other ones suggested are just as good
  12. Appears that the Mazak problem has spread further. I took apart a Hornby Bill and Toby (Thomas range) today to clean pickups/oil the bearings for a friend and the chassis blocks literally fell apart.
  13. Have you got a video of the sound at all? Would love to hear it!
  14. about £3.50 for a standard size chair at a scrap yard.
  15. I've got one and it runs well. Bit light footed but there is plenty of room for lead sheet in them big side tanks which is what I've done with mine.
  16. Sloppy writing for a supposedly professional company!
  17. Well all I hope for is that I can use my modellers license as I have no use for one, yet I'm definitely having one!

well my experience of Caprotti valve gear is LOUD!
  19. Can you not run the two powered units together? its a myth than DCC is needed for this as it can be done most satisfactory on DC.
  20. Mine runs on romfords and is a lovely runner. Original Hornby chassis
  21. They've also spelt Sentinel two different ways on the paperwork that comes with that model. Sentinal and Sentinel.
  22. Just been told by my supplier that they've had a very large box from Hornby arrive today and along with other stuff is 71000 and Sentinels By supplier I mean the 47401 Project shop at Swanwick Junction.
