      When someone makes a move

      Of which we don't approve,

Who is it that always intervenes?

      UN and OAS,

They have their place, I guess,

      But first,

      Send the Marines!!

It made me reflect on how aware children really are of the real world, when an issue becomes 'real' for them.

You must have confused her, Nick. In Yorkshire, collies were traditionally used to round up J72s and other LNER locos.

Whatever happened to blackboard rubbers being thrown at them, always seemed to grab the lazy little bu##ers attention when I was at skool !

    4. Huw Griffiths

      Huw Griffiths

Probably "strenglich verboten" these days - haven't you heard - wasters always seem to have "human rights", even if everyone else doesn't.

After all, you know the reason corporal punishment was banned in schools? They ended up with some kids who were allowed to be disciplined and some who were not.

I suspect the ones who needed sorting out were in the "can't touch me" group.

  17. Currenty working on my railway in the garden, perfect combination! Perhaps I should build a garden railway! ;-)

    1. Satan's Goldfish

      Satan's Goldfish

Do it. I'd rather be tinkering with LGB in the garden any day of the week! Fun to work on in summer, then sounds very special running in the snow.

The majority of "grown up" television is pitched at a 12 year old level as this was the level which was found to be most inclusive to the "grown up" demographic. I'm joking either!

    4. Huw Griffiths

      Huw Griffiths

I take it you mean the tabloid image of prison - with free Sky TV, mobile phones - illicit drugs on tap - and nobody serves more than half their sentence?

Sorry - couldn't resist that one - I'm sure the regimes are tougher than that
