  1. Looks great chaps, so much nicer than the reality of today!
  2. Some interesting projects there Jo, especially like the cooler groups.
  3. I presume it was the Diesel Gala at Swanage this weekend. That 101 does look the business.
  4. Hi Peter, The second option will probably look a little more realistic, it is rare to find a road running parallel to a tunnel mouth, even at Kemble there is a reasonable gap between the tunnel mouth and road: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=kemble&bav=on.2,or.r_qf.&bvm=bv.45645796,d.d2k&biw=1024&bih=651&wrapid=tlif136699786194310&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=X&ei=Ybt6UaH2L6nT0QXei4B4&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAg
  5. Nice to see this at Trainwest and have a quick chat with Ray, a lovely layout.
  6. I don't know, but I have a pack of bearings in my spares box that still bear his price label!
  7. Max Williams of Bristol was always an aladdins cave, I used to badger my parents to take me there, even though it was the other side of town.
  8. Plus Dennis in Warwick... Also Leyland is equipped to make virtually all the models in the DAF range these days
  9. The photo of the blue roof is interesting, also confirms the well was blue, some photos of completed models I have seen have the solebar downwards painted black.
  10. I have just seen your exploits with the TCV, I hadn't realised the height was so out! The hinges are somewhat fragile on the end, one of mine has broken since completion. I would be interested in taking it off your hands my only problem is if I put it next to my other one how it will show up that I havent corrected the errors on my one...
  11. The annual bill for my Land Rover worked out cheaper than Railway modelling one year (when I bought a few locos etc), I don't include fuel as it generally gets used on trips that would have been in another car anyway (eg tip runs) Tax - £180 MOT - £65 (Including a couple of bits required to pass) Insurance - £108 Oil etc - £25 Total £378
  12. There was an article in a recent Rail Express on modelling the aircon MK2's, think it was November 2012 issue but not 100%
  13. I Used to use a Relco but have now converted to feedback controllers which are so much better, but at the end of the day there is no substitute for properly cleanded track, ideally using IPA not anything abrassive.
  14. Spain went first (unless Pegaso are still around)? Dennis are hanging in there (just) but struggling to think of any other british truck makers.

    Dapol 'Western'

This looks fantatsic, I feel a BFYE and some renumbering/dominoes to do 1023
  16. I think this is a great layout, so far I have only managed to see it the once at Stroud but was very impressed, as Marc says more photos please!
  17. Can't wait for the Commer PB, I feel a high roof British Telecom conversion coming on!
  18. That 128 is a nice job, great to see one modelled in later life.
  19. I presume that Dapol could look at different roof dome inserts so you have one basic shell for the 121 and 122 to which the roof domes moulds are added separately?
  20. Get in! Absolutely Proper Job, I can see at least 2 of these venturing onto Pallet Lane. 117 and a 118 next please!!!
  21. Must not use strong solvent and smoke in the same room....
  22. They are a nice kit, worth replacing the wheels and pin point bearings, new handrails is a must. If you want a really interesting project you could try this:
  23. Looks good Lee, I know what Sean means about the front but they probably stand out more in the photos than reality. Re the EE window surrounds, it is worth it in my opinion and not as hard as I envisaged, worth follwoing the approach outlined in the recent Rail Express Modeller (i.e, paint the etch, fit the glazing to the etch, then fit to the loco).
  24. Love the falling down brick wall, very effective.
  25. Hi Clive, As promised a couple of pics of Lima/Hornby hybrid showing the roof and door mods:
