We ought to start the OFWAT club, Bob. Nothing to do with water supply regulation but rather the Old Farts Walking And Tottering club. We seem to be on the same sort of regime at the moment with walks of a mile or so before various body parts start to complain. I managed just under a mile and a half to the Sainsbury’s Local and back today before my back and legs gave out then had to have a rest. My reward will be cake and bubbly starting shortly.

Bradford is allegedly the curry capital, of the UK and has some fabulous curry houses with their own specialities. Well worth a visit. My team once detected a case of criminal damage by the sauce in a curry that the suspect had in his car. According to the shift curry expert  that sauce was only sold at the restaurant he denied going to.

Was it from the Karachi ( or K) by any chance?

Well, I think there are other considerations.

Firstly, there are 36 layouts and Warley had 90 and already that is over one third  and secondly one of those 36 layouts is 208ft long and so that has an impact on the actual number of layouts on show.

Also, Keypublishing are taking a big risk to promote and nurture our hobby and I think that they should be given a chance to prove themselves - let's face it - there aren't many shows around the country that would or could accommodate Pete Waterman's 208ft of layout. If people want large ambitious exhibitions then they need to support them as and when they take place. My layout is 28ft x10ft and several two day shows have told me that it's simply too big for them to invite it.

OK, I like OO9 4x2 layouts, but for me, big is better and big shows are needed in order to see big layouts.

Pete could have taken his layout to Warley but chose not to.

There used to be a very good Italian restaurant on Orchard Road. Probably long gone by now.

    Dave

Didn't see one last year but we  did try the Mowe pick as per @jjb1970 s suggestion. Brilliant place!

@monkeysarefun that platter looks nice. I noticed that an australian acquaintance was ar Crab Shack in Wellington Harbour recent where the staff wear t shirts telling everyone "We have Crabs"

But tye food is very nice  including the huge green lipped mussels and orange ruffle..

And outside of London it’s a desert - with oases few and far between…

Certainly, you can get (pale imitations of) “ethnic food” (Asian, Indian [well, mostly Bangladeshi], Italian etc) but it’s nearly always what you could term “Hollywood Movie” food, as in “A Blockbuster Movie based on….” where the only thing that is actually original (authentic)  is the name used…

Have you ever got north of the M25 recently? Obviously not as your very broad brush view needs to be revised pdq. Why?

In Leeds and other cities, towns and villages, I am certain that the choice of foods.. generally available prepared by at least first generation visitors (as in Chinese, Thai, Bangladeshi, Indian, Pakistani and both Greek and Turkish) as well as Italian  restaurants  serve food just like it says they are described. I didn't notice any majore differences on my travels.  Unfortunately I await a visit to a local Japanese restaurant to check it out.

Our local chefs may not be too pleased about your views..

Food in Switzerland ( on my business vists) was never really that exciting...even when prepared in the General in charge of Army caterings Castle!
