  9. First I have one more of the Temple Meads Goods Yard signal box (Rivercider) Here is a shot of Temple Meads Goods Yard signal box when it was in use in 1963 http://www.flickr.com/photos/bristolsteam/7368217354/in/photostream think how many photos of locos running onto or out of Bath Road have had this building as a backdrop, (Rivercider) http://www.flickr.com/photos/bristolsteam/6841446408/
  10. Robin, In this shot of 44753, the buffer by the coaling tower can be glimpsed through the metal ladder of the signal. The mineral wagon was not right up against the buffer. I wondered why my photo of 7900 had suddenly become so popular ! http://www.flickr.com/photos/bristolsteam/5890877811/in/set-72157625157165429 Patrick

  16. On this day in history : Saturday February 29, 1964 (Not quite accurate, but I did not want to wait until the next leap year) Bristol Temple Meads, Lawrence Hill and Barrow Road Shed and Yards These are mainly turns that were steam hauled, but were generally rostered for diesels There are three photo's which were taken on the day. 5M19 8.50 St Philips Yard-Birmingham 48629 3V14 9.32 Derby-Bristol Parcels 45561 Saskatchewan 1A30 10.02 Taunton-Bristol 4978 Westwood Hall 2B93 10.49 Bath-Bristol 82041 2B93 11.49 Bristol-Bath 82041 2F42 12.35 Bristol-Swansea 6905 Claughton Hall 2H74 12.46 Bristol-Gloucester 45263 1V93 13.55 Liverpool-Bristol 5955 Garth Hall http://www.flickr.co...eam/5273626149/ 3B37 15.10 Pontypool-Bristol Parcels 5042 Winchester Castle 2B74 17.43 Gloucester-Bristol 45263 5M28 18.00 St Philips Yard-Water Orton 45280 1B21 18.05 Bristol-Weston 6900 Abney Hall 5M27 19.00 St Philips Yard-Derby 45561 Saskatchewan 4C25 20.00 Avonmouth-Tavistock 4978 Westwood Hall http://www.flickr.co...eam/5481460605/ Unidentified freight at Lawrence Hill 6942 Eshton Hall http://www.flickr.co...eam/5481460509/ Of interest is that the Jubilee 45561 rostered for the 19.00 Derby freight came onto Bath Road Diesel Depot to pick up D38 and tow it with the freight to Derby Works.
