I upgraded our 3 machines to 10 a while back and don't understand why people so many object to it. Accept that Microsoft's approach to upgrading was wrong though.

I would imagine that these people have skins made from Chobham Armour to survive for more than one day so need/have/desire little, if any, training.

Metr0Land. That is exactly the situation we are in plus my wife does charity work which can bring calls from many different places. Some people do not like answering systems and many "official" calls can come up with an ID of "unknown" or even "overseas" on one weird occasion.

I have caller ID but we do get necessary calls from sometimes unknown numbers so cannot ignore them.

  15. Why do I have this strange retro desirer to build an Airfix plane and hang it with thread from a cup hook in the ceiling

  16. Eldest son involved in serious car crash. OK thank goodness, however it is a fine line between OK and something not to even be considered.

Ian J. As far as I can see it isn't difficult to stop Windows 10 sending back data by adjusting the privacy settings which only takes a few minutes. It is also possible to stop the updates if you wish. I do agree that Microsoft have been totally overbearing in the way they have gone about presenting and pushing the upgrades, etc but, as far as I can see, adjustment of settings can stop a lot of that, if not all.

XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 - used them all. Vista and 8 (before upgrade 8.1) were pretty dire but I don't really understand why people appear to have so many problems with 10. I find it stable and easy to use, is it me that's odd then?

  22. Ordered my long desired Midland Compound from Locomotion over a week ago. Order acknowledged immediately but nothing heard since to indicate when I might get it though in spite of £7.50 del charge. Frustrating. Do we expect too much on delivery these days? Ordered DCC chip for it at same time and received that within 24 hours.
