  2. Bump. I've just received a Sound Thumper - 1108 in BR Green - for my birthday, and it's a fantastic bit of kit. However, and I don't know whether anyone else has had this problem, but the light blinds and internal lights in the DTC only illuminate in one direction, when the DMBSO is leading. As soon as it's switched to running with the DTC leading the lights/light blinds go out. Would quite like to get the bottom of it, and don't really fancy taking the 'bonnet' up unnecessarily/without some sort of direction. Any help, greatly appreciated! Thanks, Richard
  3. Care to share just how you did it? I've an old Bachmann 43xx and Manor that will at some point require conversion, so it'd be great to find out how you did it.
  4. I believe there's an abandoned Railfreight liveried OBA sitting in the up sidings at Welwyn Garden City, it's been there for as long as I can remember. Edit: here you go - OBA
  5. What was the furthest west these rather attractive 'dogs ever worked west? Thinking, with my Christmas cash, that I may treat myself to one, so would love to know if they every ventured west of the Tamar. Thanks in advance! Richard
  6. Was sitting inside its base yesterday at about 15.15 as I passed heading back from Swindon to Reading.
  7. According to Model Rails Twitter feed Bachmann have recalled all the new Modified Halls in light of errors picked up by magazines that reviewed the new engines.
  8. This one's all moody... GWR Signal...apparently! Richard
  9. I must admit Alan, your layout is an inspiration. So wonderfully set, and everything looks bang on! Seeing this progress has led me back to BR(W) modelling, and I'm on the road to creating something a bit further, and more pasty-ful than Wencombe. Without your layout I reckon I'd have kept with the hum-drum modern diesels (which I'll still run from time to time). So thank you! And as always, fantastic work! Richard
  10. Thanks Chris, plus I believe that RBs and RBKs are yet to be modelled in RTR format? Though I assume Comet probably do a set of new sides. Richard
  11. Hello all, Researching Mk1 coaching stock and the formation of trains made up of these I haven't come across much mention of restaurant/buffet cars within trains. Now predominantly I'm looking to find out whether RMBs were in service at the same time as RUs which were used on WR trains (at least I'm pretty sure), so would both be seen running at the same time on the network? Also when did RUs and RMBs come into regular use? And was there a difference in the importance of trains that these two types of "catering" coaches were used on? Thanks! Richard
  12. Fantastic wagons Ian. One question, how did you mask off that Grampus to do the yellow line against the grey? Cheers
  13. Does he still produce signals? And if so I'd love to buy one or two. Thanks Richard
  14. Fantastic layout I must say. Also, where did you get the signal on the left? The one showing a green aspect. Thanks Richard
  15. My favourite, and I think my best ever...
  16. Diorama/programming track wired, now to start the painting!

  17. Can see the GWML from his desk...and is wondering what ballast to order for his OO gauge layout, any thoughts chaps (and ladies :P)?

  18. Wow, now I know my old Networker has gone to a good home! I eagerly anticipate seeing the finished product.
  19. Has just spaced his first section of Peco 00 track with his new P H Designs Sleeper Spacing Jig. What a fantastic bit of kit!

  20. John, I look forward to seeing those pictures. And I once again should apologise with the length of time it took to get you the 466! Richard

Have been following this thread for a while, and my word, it's a beautiful creation. Every single element, from the track to the trees, from scenery to the stock. Just wonderful.
  22. I really need to get some of these fantastic models at some point, hopefully there'll be another batch at some point.
  23. Hello, I am in the process of updating my engines, DMUs, EMUs to DCC, could you possibly do a guide for fitting decoders to the Bachmann Voyager (220). I believe they do not have sockets in them. Thanks. Richard
  24. Hello all, it's been very quiet I know, however now that I have packed away the tumble-weed I can get started again. This blog entry is a plea for help rather than anything concrete, I have been looking, since the beginning of this week to get some bits and bobs for more detailing jobs etc, and was wondering if anyone has some insider trading knowledge as well as their own tried and tested procedures. Firstly, where is the best place to get jewellers wire suitable for jumper cables (of 0.3mm diameter) along with wire suitable for handrails (0.4/0.45 mm diameter). Secondly, couplings, is there anywhere I can get the specialised Instanter coupling loops (the ones that look a little like a heart) on their own. Plus where is the best place to source working screw couplings for locos. Thirdly, glues/liquid gravity (by Deluxe Materials). These are needed for modelling purposes and weighting of kits etc, where would be the best place to get these, I have already looked on Gaugemaster etc, but could I get them for less elsewhere? Hope this isn't too much to ask And of course, once I source all these bits and bobs there will be updates from my workbench! Thank you in advance for the advice I will recieve. Richard
