  1. Hello This section letsyou know of any developments and releases from myself. The range varies from 2mm scale to 7mm scale covering a wide range of periods, areas and gauges as well as mainline, light railway and industrial. The range also includes the former manufacturers ranges Bal models Clarke kits Albert Goodall Regards Robert RT Models Www.rtmodels.co.uk
  2. I wouldn't mind myself, i've taken over 2 businesses ranges since setting up RT Models over a year ago which i didn't expect to happen. Re-releasing kits is not always easy, I've got one thats ready to be re-released but i'm waiting to get hold of the wheels and chains, thats all thats stopping it from being released. 3. update on the upgrading, i've just had back a test etch which is to replace the old printed plastic parts, contains the slopeing ends, the floor which has lines marked for 00 and EM/P4, same for above, washers for the wheels, the small supports for the Ladle, the turned pulleys are to be replaced with etches which will have to be laminated, it has been suggested casting the originals but its just cleaning them up and drilling them. Re-release shouldn't be too far away, got a promising reply today about some bits for the kit! Regards Robert
  4. [quote name= I still need to pluck up the will power to bring my soldering iron to bear on those wires. Having seen what is inside that motor I fear that the heat will simply vapourise the microscopic plastic gear. the temptation is to continue the disassembly down to that metal wheel/pickup assembly and solder to that without any plastic around but then the carpet is likely to devour everything. This is the reason i don't say anything in the instructions about modifying the chassis i don't wish to be blamed for anyone damaging their motor bogie, it is at your own risk. I've done 4 motor bogies so far including soldering a resistor on the top on 3 of them, the first one still hasn't had one fitted (but only i drive it!) and i havn't had any problems, just don't have too much solder on or linger with the iron as you will damage the gears should you do, a quick touch is all you want. Regards Mr T
  5. The guide wheels should be attached to the steering unit unless manufacturers are coming up with newer ideas that i'm not aware off? Modern Buses are limited to 100KPH by law so even on the guided busway because of this even off road they can't go any faster, my 2 buses are not limited becuase of their age but are just slow! They only do 45mph. For a bit of history the original tracline 65 west midlands travel Metrobuses were the first guided buses in britain and had to have a special dispensation because the guide wheels made them wider than buses normally were! I've driven one of these myself although long after the scheme was abandoned. Regards Robert Thompson www.rtmodels.co.uk
