  1. Hi James, Yes I've been busy recently mainly with work and moved house last week. Funny enough I did mention about barber at the wigan exhibition just gone which the basic cut patterns are to hand and the turnings done already so is very slowly getting there. On the plus side the revised harrogate drewry is now available with etched front grill and steps, improved castings and now included as standard is the jackshaft drive but has pushed the price of the kit up to £31.00, at the moment I'm not able to alter the website as I'm awaiting internet connection at the new house which everything is being done via my mobile phone. The albert goodall range will be having added shortly his scale drawing and paper overlays but I will not be able to spray these like albert used to so will be cheap. I am also going to reintroduce alberts headboards shortly but these will be painted as I can do these by hand.
  2. to add to this, with all mine, i never reused the original drawbars but made my own using a split pin with a cut down smiths spring behind it on the loco and a pivoted hook on the tender which means these are at the correct height plus your not straining the pony truck with the locos load. By doing this it means you lose the tender pick us but ive never had a problem personally.
  3. How will you do the brake gear on this? if you do need and are able to wait a month or so i should have a etch done for the brake gear and pull rods, part of the improvements and additions to the Albert Goodall range.
  4. Hi Horsetan, those castings are photographed as they came, no cleaning up done to them. Yes there was a tender back which ended up in the scrap bin which was probably because it it was worn or didnt come out right, cant remember the exact reason but there are other parts that was the same.
  5. Hi all, the 4mm scale, 009 gauge Shotton steel Works/Statfold barn Railway Hudswell Badger is now available at £26.00 plus £2.30 P&P. If you have pre-ordered, you can purchase these straight from the website or await a invoice from myself over the next few days.
  6. Hi all, Just a quick note that the albert goodall range is now up and running. There's still loads to do and other bits will be added over time of both alberts and mine. I'm afraid I've had to increase the prices dramatically but are still cheaper than what they should be in todays prices.
  7. is thinking of sticking his detailed Hornby merchant navy in paint stripper and detailing it a bit more and a better paint job than 12 years ago!

  8. Very nice paul, hope you are ready for your next NG loco?
  9. The whitemetal casting is substantial so has plenty of weight in it and seems to run well enough but a etched version will require additional weighting or springing. The etched version would be inside bearing whilst alberts runs with the pinpoint axles but seems designed for plain extended axles rather than pinpoint?
  10. Hi all, the Albert Goodall test castings have arrived and look promising although some bits will be dropped such as the front bogies and the manifold wheels as i've now replaced the latter with a etch. Hopefully towards the end of next week the range will be live on the website but some extra/new bits will be added over time such as lost wax brass items etc Going through the test castings, for the Merchant navy pony truck both the cast and fabricated sides are present but no truck itself for them to go on, although i do have the patterns to hand. The question is, would you prefer the original main casting to be used or a new etch to be introduced?
  11. Sounds like another trip to a railway then! You all keep me busy!
  12. I know what you mean, my 2 west country's from years ago have scratch built ashpans following Alberts drawing but my recent one will have alberts castings attached to save me the work. Another good bit of news, the latest batch of Lost wax brass bulleid pacific front steps have arrived so existing orders will be posted out the next few days.
  13. Hi Paul, are you referring to one of these? I have motted the idea but havn't measured these even though i had my measureing tape with me but measuring other rolling stock on the various sites.
  14. Hi all, a quick update that the Albert Goodall range is slowly being looked through which the first test castings should arrive this week so we will see what they are like as some bits may need to have new moulds made? The SR lamp standards and concrete pailing fencing will be introduced towards the end of the week to begin with. The Harrogate Gas Works Drewry in 4mm scale, 009 gauge is about to have its moulds made in a few weeks so will see this re-introduced after a years absence with now a etched front grille and cab steps. Also to be thrown in with the moulds is most of the castings required for the 4mm scale London Transport Hurst Nelson brake van and 60ft rail wagon so the former shouldn't be too far away now.
  15. Hi Adam, i would consider this which some noises have been made to me about doing the mine version The chasssis certainly looks identical to the Shotton versions. I'll have to see if i can do a trip at some point unless someone is able to help?
  16. Well i did say i'll see what i could do and i kept my word! Glad its coming along nicely.
  17. Hi all, for those interested i have on ebay under member "rtmodels-kits" parkside dundas and cambrian wagon kits that came with the Albert Goodall range. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/rtmodels-kits/m.html?item=320888050722&sspagename=STRK%3AMESELX%3AIT&rt=nc&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649&_trksid=p4340.l2562 These are being sold 15% less than current rrp as i want them gone asap.
  18. Doesn't know if he's working this week or not! Not that i'm bothered by it!

  19. No the kit only covers the later/preserved variant. If i can get more information then i can do the earlier version as a seperate kit.
  20. Hello Everyone If anyone wants the 4mm scale version of the Hudswell Badger when its released can you let me know off group by tomorrow morning 2/05/2012 at the latest so theres enough etches ordered.
  21. If i can get hold of the information i would consider it, i know one person is meant to be trying to find out for me.
  22. Hi all, heres a quick update after i got a set of test etches over the weekend. For 4mm scale, 009 gauge, a un-announched loco kit. The Shotton Steel works/Statfold Barn railway Hudswell Badger. The etches allow for either SBR Badger or un-restored 50 at the railway. The test build of the major parts has gone well as you can see in the photos which still lots of detailing still required so hopefully it should be released in a few weeks with a retail price of no more than £30. Basic body structure The kit is designed to fit onto the N gauge Grham Farish class 03 or 04 chassis. If you think the kit looks impressive, wait till the 7mm scale version comes out with its own chassis kit! There is also to be released in 4mm scale a small detailing etch for GWR pannier tank sandbox pull rods. The test etch for the 4mm scale rebuilt bulleid pacific lubricator and manifold wheels has come out very well and these will replace the Albert Goodall cast versions in due course. Also the 4mm manning wardle Old Class I will now feature a etched firebox to give more room for fitting a vertical motor based on building mine but will still contain the cast version. Better crack on with the K class now. I think i need a lay down before i go to work after all this!
  23. Yes the high level gearbox you've shown will be based on that if not the same? Partly because with 2mm scale, its not something that can easily be built so does put alot of people off but not all obviously. If someone did want something that was a etch, all you have to do is ask a i did a while ago a S scale austerity chassis but just awaiting to hear how it went before he wants more. Sometimes it can take a while because of money. The title of RT models was changed last year to reflect the various scales it will cater for, about to do some continental coaches in N gauge for a friend soon so that will be fun for me as they are stainless steel! I am a very busy person at the moment which leads me to my next post..................
  24. Actually the gearbox/drive train will be a seperate unit with compensation having spoken with both Chris and Roger of High Level and CSP respectively. Following from a question on another thread, the bunker will a optional extra so you can have a plain backed sentinel. Is there any preserved as i've only come across the over hanging coal bunker versions so far? .
  25. I don't normally do advance announcements but here goes. For those interested, work is currently underway to produce a post war Sentinel 100hp in 4mm and 7mm scale with release aimed towards the end of the year. The aim is to have a etched nickel silver body, (designing the cab will be interesting!) will feature a custom designed twin axle gearbox from High Level for the 4mm scale version. Measurements and photographing was carried out last year with help from a member.
