  1. Thankyou Frank, i must admit even im impressed myself, will look better when fully lined and named. The kits is etched nickel silver with whitemetal fittings and some items like the safety valve covers are done in lost wax brass.
  2. Yes ive been working on the drawings again for the hurst nelson brake van which its not far off from sending now. Got the first test build from over a year ago sat in front of me. Hopefully in a few weeks i will get the buffers turned up and the axleboxes/springs made and all sent off for a mould to be made. The kit will actually be in nickel silver as its so much easier to solder than brass and also the paint seem to adhere better to nickel silver than brass.
  3. Hello Everyone, heres one model that i have slowly been building over the last few months. Im not going to deny it has been built from one of my own kits. The prototype for the kit in the first place was choosen based on its long career and wide spread useage, nothing to do with personal interests at the time. During research i found one of these, "Morous" ran just down the road from me on the Shropshire and montgomeryshire railway which actually got me interested in researching the railway and even more so that i've actually served these villages on the route myself through work and one of my colleagues ancesters so to speak worked on the railway as he saw me drawing the instructions at work along with the books around me! Anyway, so i've decided to go out of usual modelling period and areas and model a Colonel Stephens light railway as these would make a change for me and to provide me a challenge or as you will read, a headache in some areas! The model of Morous was built as close as possible to when it ran on the railway. The livery has caused major headaches, Midland Railway red certainly seemed to be the correct colour. However, its the smaller details that are the problems, should the splashers be red or black? The bufferbeams, normally they would be like a signal red but according to a painting/print that ive seen its the same red as the loco? Heres some photos before lining in yellow/black/yellow and hopefully soon, some S&M logos to go in the centre of the tank.
  4. Good evening everyone, now that the extra work is over from my full time job, (spoke too soon!) i can start to do some more work again on designing kits. Heres photos of some test etches done a while ago. First in 4mm scale 00/EM/P4 a small detailing etch to upgrade the ladders, walkways and handwheels on the Airfix/Dapol 35T class B tank wagon kit. And for my 4mm scale narrowgauge people in 009 gauge Scale model of the Dinorwic Car Cryn which replaces the former Bal Models version that was in the range. This will be released on the website tomorrow night hopefully. And to go with it, a dinorwic slate rubbish wagon. From a quick assembly last night, it seems to go together well so we will see, certainly alot easier to build than the original version i did some 6 to 9 months ago, hard to believe it was that long that i did a test etch for this! I have been reading through many of your comments on bulleid detailing parts and have taken note as well as some ideas of my own. Anyway, i'm off to bed as i've got another long day tommorow and welcome your comments as usual.

  6. I'm glad you all approve which i'm also glad Alberts range is saved.
  7. i tried stretching the Hornby E2 many years ago but with the amount of cutting and filling i just gave up so good on you for this.
  8. Good evening everyone. To put aside alot of speculation and doubt. I'm now ready to announce that the Albert Goodall range of mostly 4mm scale Bulleid pacific detailing parts has been acquired by myself. The whole range won't appear as yet as there is alot to sort out so it could be a few months before anything is released again. Shirley Goodall and friend Jim Corbett have both retired from attending exhibitions with Alberts stand which i'm sure you will wish them both a happy retirement and a big thankyou to them for carrying on Alberts range for all this time. I knew Albert when i was very young which he passed away 10 years ago when i was 16 and he is one of the people that encouraged me to do pattern making as he gave me a drawing for the Giesl Ejector chimney which i made the pattern for and was going to lend to him but it wasn't to be and it has sat with me only till a few years ago when i decided to take the plunge into manufacturing and designing kits myself. Whilst almost everything will be re-introduced, some parts will be upgraded or replaced as well addding a few more items to the range, this will also see the current parts i do myself moving over to the Albert Goodall pages shortly which i will be keeping his name on the website pages with his nameplate displayed on them.

  10. HI Max Stafford, yes the cylinder drain cock pipes are available. They are towards the bottom of the page. http://www.rtmodels.co.uk/rt_models_016.htm
  11. If its ok to blow my own trumpet so to speak, thought these Bulleid front loco steps in 4mm scale would be of interest to this group. the steps are at the bottom of the thread http://www.rmweb.co....s/page__st__125
  12. wow, what a impressive line up from Bachmann. If only a BR blue original Merchant Navy was produced in 00 Always wanted one.
  13. Yes my poor £xx Bachmann N class will be stripped down soon for development work including the option of a N1, might as well.
  14. Hi all, whilst ive had some spare time today, heres a quick tease of whats about to appear on the website as these arrived yesterday along with the Austerity/J94 injectors 4mm scale 00/EM/P4 lost wax brass bulleid pacific front loco steps. They have a tail which you may see in the photo that goes behind the bufferneam to help with both securing and overall strength.
  15. Hi everyone, ive been quiet on here as i have been very busy with both my full time job and RT Models recently which i havn't been doing any new kits or parts partly to lack of time but also needing a break. a few weeks ago, i installed a highlevel kits roadrunner compact + with Mashima flat can 1015 into the 4mm scale 00/EM/P4 Manning Wardle Old Class I driven off the middle axle. Some material was removed from inside the cast firebox to accommodate the motor vertically. This was done with a minidrill and dental burr. I will be finishing this model for myself as Shropshire and Montgomeryshire "Morous". Onced finished it will be visiting Shrewsbury Abbey station where the real loco used to run from to have some photos taken.
  16. As many of you know, i produce many 4mm scale detailing parts for these locos and this is purely because these are my 2nd favourite locomotive. Why? not too sure, just like the look of them and from a modellers point of view plenty of variations! Funny enough though and much to my surprise last week, i passed 68030 on the back of a low loader on the A5 not far from shrewsbury, guessing that it came from Llangollen Railway?
  17. I used to think a terrier was small till i placed it next to a manning wardle Old Class I and now the terrier looks massive in comparison! looks very good.
  18. yes it was good to talk to you chris at Stafford, Ken, the new bulleid pacific parts when they arrive (along with the order for more austerity/J94 0-6-0ST injectors) are lost wax brass front loco steps, when these arrive i'm not too sure? just to added to the website at long last is the 4mm scale 00/EM/P4 BR class 13 slave loco conversion kit plus available is a 08/09/13 revised right hand exhauster box if you have a model that doesn't have it fitted for the loco you want to model. also added to the 4mm scale loco detailing parts is the manning wardle loco chimney, E.B.Wilson fluted and manning wardle tapered safety valve covers.
  19. unless im mistaken, the underframe sides look complete all the way. i bought one when Hornby brought it out many years ago (originally Dapol) and like yourself, had to lower it on its bogies. around the top of each bogie the underframe sides was open so i had to fill these in with plastikard.
  20. Hi all, just a quick note that all in 4mm scale, the austerity/J94 etched body detailing sheet, class 13 conversion kit and the Manning Wardle Old Class I 0-6-0ST loco kit MIGHT be ready for stafford exhibition but can't promise this.
  21. Hi Morris, funny you mention the class 12, that very loco you see was meant to be one many years ago but went badly wrong when i glued the new engine doors on with plasticweld, the body reacted badly and bowed outwards rendering the body useless, until now for its testing! It could be something in the future, however i know that A1 models do some engine doors so these might prove useful?
  22. Hi Charlie, the class 13 parts are designed for the outside framed Hornby version which to be honest will be the easiest to convert. Whilst i no longer own a Bachmann 08, i know that the rear chassis block prutrudes into the cab and will require the chassis to be cut. With the Hornby version only a block needs unscrewing and the decoder plug detached. Then to file down the end of the block and re-attach to clear the back of the ex cab, alot easier that way.
  23. Good morning everyone just to let you know on current progress. The 4mm scale class 13 slave loco detailing kit is now on order so will be released soon. Also added is 7mm scale oil cans. I will look forward to meeting those attending the Stafford Railway Circle exhibition, County Showground, Stafford, Staffordshire, February 4th and 5th
  24. I see where you are coming from here paul, certainly better than trying to have permantly linked rakes! At least with the extended pin you can slip a chain from another wagon or even loco?
  25. Hi everyone, Just currently completing the next set of patterns for detailing bits and this includes a large locomotive jack which is being done as 2 piece. With the jack, would you prefer that a hole was cast in the centre or was left without one so you can drill one your self to alter the position to say stage the scenerio of re-railing a loco? The new mould will also include quite a few loco detailing items that some of you have asked for which is very nearly completing my to do list.
