  1. Many thanks Mike, that helps me get my layout operating method correct when I get round to it. best regards Craig
  2. See Chris Klein's Cwm Bach thread for inspiration on similar space
  3. Gents, many thanks for all the replies, I didn't realise the term Pay Train was mainly an ER or LMR term, what was used on the Western or Southern when the station booking facilities where withdrawn on less used lines ? Best regards Craig.
  4. Are you sure your layout isn't set in North Wales ? The climate seems to suggest so , see you soon Mr P
  5. That is a lovely neat Mancave set up, those under the layout cupboards look great, good luck with the project
  6. Larry G's modelling on Western Thunder is sublime & inspiring ^_^

  7. Can anybody please confirm what year the British Rail pay trains started ? would it be around the late 60's to early 70's once the decimation of station staff and facilities where cut ? or even earlier ? Thanks in advance Craig.
  8. Martin, we came down for the away fixture last February, had the weekend in Exeter, my lad was on a course at Limpstone. it was a great weekend, and I have to say the Supporters Club was great, we was in there for a couple of hours before the game, it’s good to see the Grecians being a Club for the Fans again now, I remember your difficult times. Good luck for this season Craig
  9. Yes only 1 team will be relegated out of League 2 this season, our expulsion will cause the numbers to adjusted further down the pyramid ...
  10. Rivercider, are you a Grecian ? best regards Craig

  12. Bury Fan here ...... I'll not lie it's been a tough few months , and this week has felt like a bereavement, I have the memories of going along to home and away games as 3 generations of supporters, we lost my Dad just over 4 years ago, but my Son and I still go when we could, making long distance away games a weekend treat away "he is the Royal Marines", but after a few years of mismanagement by 2 or 4 utter Crooked W#nkers in our club, our little footballing community has been crushed to dust. I had 46 years support and 78 league grounds invested in watching our beloved Shakers ... but our plight is everything that is completely wrong with todays game, most clubs aren't community assets anymore, they are just play things or Ego trips for the "so called" narcissistic Wealthy to$$ers, who unfortunately leave leave behind a trail or destruction and debt once it all goes to rat sh#t. The EFL are complicate in our doom also, as their inability to chase down our latest Crook of a Chairman was the final blow, the saying amonst our fans is Stewart Day killed us, Stave Dale put us in the coffin, and the EFL hammered the nails down on the lid, the damage to the fabric of the town of Bury will be hard, small businesses and pubs relied on the home games, especially if the away following was sizeable one. We have the Boroughs MP's onboard, and we are making a legal case to try and prove the EFL did not follow their own rules in making the initial decision to expel us, and then refuting our appeal to rescind the decision, so we will keep fighting, if all else fails then it looks like an application to join further down the footballing pyramid for the 2020/2021 season. UTS ... Up The Shakers. 1885 - 2019
  13. Looking good Andy, has the floor been strengthened in TOPs ? as that is some weight there with all those Locos Best regards Craig.
  14. Gents & Ladies, I am an exiled Shaker (Bury), and our plight really does come down to tomorrows High Court Case in London, as whether our rogue "beloved" Chairman can prove the finances to go ahead with the CVA that was agreed last week, but request after request from the EFL have been met with a lack of communication for Steve Dale, hence why the EFL have had no option to force his hand and dish out the suspension. Fingers and everything else crossed for tomorrow, our fate should be known by around 11.00-11.30am, but if it all goes awry, that's 45 years of love, joys, tears and emotions down the tubes ... as the late great Bill Shankly once famously said about football being more important than life and death .... sorry it isn't now ... it's all about the purse strings, tax fiddles, sponsorship deals, branding, signing on fees, agents fees and everything that has turned the Footballing Community rotten to the core with chasing the holy grail of money. Up The Shakers, Bury till I die, or the Club dies before me Craig.
  15. Hello, I am contemplating a small 4mm creamery project, and was looking at the Dapol 6 wheeled milk tankers, I know they aren't correct in detail etc, but it is possible to dismantle them easy enough to work on them for detailing etc, remove the tank etc ? or are they all glued together and nigh on impossible to dismantle without wrecking them ? Many thanks in advance Craig.
  16. Hello does anybody have a pair of JLTRT "Just Like The Real Thing" Class 25/1 cabs with gangway doors still present, I would like to either exchange for a pair of plated over versions or buy them. Please message me if you are interested. Best regards Craig. Quote
  17. May be Larry was rubbed up by some snowflake type comment, who knows ! But in this day and age it is very common for people to get offended for others, who probably weren’t offended in the first place, you know the 3rd party I am offended for you syndrome, it’s so BBC these days. best regards Craig
  18. Ok here is a couple short observations in my eyes. If any of you have met or ever get to meet Larry personally he is a lovely bloke, with a wicked dry sense of humour, and a font of information about Railways. WT - Western Thunder I find is a great forum, very inspirational modelling on all skill levels, and certainly not a clique that I have noticed. The above are a bit of ying against the yang in the two subjects discussed in this thread. best regards Craig
  19. Hi Mark, there was a bit of a kerfuffle when it happened, and a good few had paid up pre-orders for the 47 kit. Best regards Craig.
  20. I have to say. this has to be one of my favourites layouts I have come across, the decay and dereliction just oozes atmosphere, and I do like the perception of space, less is definitely more, superbly modelled you have an eye and skill for it. Best regards Craig.
  21. Better not mention the first run of Class 47's then ! A few people lost out on pre-order payments when JLTRT when kerboom
  22. I even text him and rang "the" mobile number, unobtainable !!!! I wander if I'll get my first instalment bank transfer back ? Craig
  23. Hi Blobrick, the earliest picture on www.railcar.co.uk shows 55000 in 1969 in early blue with small yellow warning panels, @EddieK may be help with your search. Hope this helps Best regards Craig.
  24. Very nice, who was selling that ? Was it the Loco Shed of Besses O’th Barn ?
  25. Is that 7mm ??? Ha ha ha ... I am on my iPhone, so it doesn’t load emojis for some reason !!!
