  1. Expect schedule to go red and at least 3 figure delays once York ROC have anything to do with it 😀
  2. 66 is also quite a bit lighter than the 59 as it has 4 less cylinders and no engine mounts. Most horrible loco I've ever worked with
  3. And a merry Christmas to you David and yet again sincere thanks for your excellent pictures 7th April 79 was a busy day for railtours I remember been on one from Middlesbrough to Dinting with 55022 coming off and the V2 coming on for a run over the hope Valley It had a loco change on the way home but I can't recall what they were I drove D9000 on the mainline in 2001 and was quite emotional thinking of how excited I was as a 13 year old being hauled by the same loco I was now driving
  4. It's possible but not sure who would want it as DB have stated they want rid of them in favour of regeared 66s As stated in another post the GM engine uses fr more fuel than the mirlees so a 60 EMD would need a much bigger fuel tank. Would be nice especially with a smaller class 60 silencer on the GM
  5. Site rail at Sellafield is completely separate to DRS
  6. Now ordered some Sankey scenics house backs to extend it
  7. Was she the manager driving the unit that the driver did an impomtue pan swap in a load of pointwork 😄
  8. Bit of a mini project I've but some shelves next to the layout so to stop items getting onto the layout I've added a section of back scene and put a sleeper fence along the coal yard boundary Thinking about a back scene along whole of coal yard now
  9. I passed out on 60s very soon after first ones were built and I can't ever recall failing with one I do remember the Tinsley training loco failing but was just piloting a 37 on a steel train The Tinsley instructor who is great bloke and an active member on here suggested that we should have loose shunted it into the lines of scrap loco then in the yards I went on to instruct on them and there was always plenty of room on them. FAR nicer loco to work with than a 66 Surprised no one has fitted a different power unit to one. With DB seemingly having financial issues I fear that mass scrapping sadly probably isn't far away
  10. Is all changed massively over that way Dave. I was going up the Erewash the last week and thinking how much track had gone from it. Long footbridges over vast areas of nothing which were obviously sidings This is an image I've posted before of a very rare freight move over the line in June this year pictured slightly North of Linby in Newstead loop
  11. I was thinking a level crossing near the car park on West Side of road
  12. I drove down Bilsdale on Wednesday and was imagining the station in the fields to the east of the Buck. Then trying to work out where it would have crossed the road down the valley If built would have probably closed long ago and now would have been lucky to spot a bridge abutment that was still remaining
  13. Morning Steve The new ones are ready made but the flint ones the other side of the road are scratch built. Very few if any Norfolk flint buildings available
  14. Thanks Phil and Rob, the house is a pair of Hornby victorian terraced houses but to me a pair looks like victorian semis that are quite common round here
  15. I've been and taken some clearer pictures of the new extension
  16. Been away since Sunday, will try and get some clearer pictures in next couple of days
  17. Hi Steve Thank you for the kind words. There maybe some older pictures on YouTube https://youtube.com/@maestromanification?si=FkOCZBbQu4limjel Cheers Russ
  18. Finished this section today. Apologies for slightly blurred pictures for some some reason camera was in food mode, cabbages are probably in focus!
  19. Cheers Steve I think extending the scenery by 12in adds a lot more depth to the village scene
  20. A while since I did an update on my layout. I've got some bookcases and decided to have a scenic extension to the village. Still another section to complete. I've added a carpark, victorian villa together with a small section of heathland and wheat field. Next to do estate cottages and a crop field
  21. People who live near railways say you get used to the noise. But no way in those houses could you sleep through those horns as nice as they sound! Hope they haven't got pets
  22. Great pictures David, as is usual for current railways in the east Midlands those views are vastly different today because of unchecked vegetation
