  1. Fantastic pictures David. Completely unrecognisable now even though basic track layout is still quite similar. Vegetation is completely out of control in the area
  2. There's one next to the GE mainline Richard, where the branch to the LTS goes off at Bow. Probably about the most interesting thing on the journey these days
  3. Currently working on a set of scrap coaches. I'm thinking about sacrificing a pair of Derby lightweight cars probably a green and blue one then forming a mixed set to run . I have 2 sets of each
  4. Interestingly pictures David The viaduct was on the news earlier as again the area is flooded
  5. Hi Mark the 153s still have the embossed Leyland logo but Hunslet Barclay put a plastic patch over it. I've exposed a few in my time! Shame they didn't get the plughole logo
  6. Not me I'm afraid, I have classic cars that get multi stage washes. Won't park under trees even when out
  7. Would that BMC container have arrived by rail on a conflat?
  8. Hi Rob, happy new year to all on here Can't believe that ballast work was almost 11 years ago. I was on some of those trains. I think it was over 2 or 3 weekends
  9. We almost didn't buy our current hose as there was a huge oak tree in the front garden. The out of the blue the seller asked us if we wanted it felling. Not only was I worried about it falling on the house but it was in the way of where I wanted to build a garage but any vehicle parked under it would get covered in sap
  10. Thanks Arran . Is the livery 60s ? I was thinking 60s livery had the words Manchester liners on them
  11. Hi Arran , am I right in thinking the Manchester liners one is early 70s?
  12. Stuff like this really pi$$es me off. If there is a tree by a railway and it is a suspect for falling on the railway due to poor condition, why isn't it felled?
  13. Reports coming in that an intermodal train near Needham Market has had a tree fall on it causing a fire and train has dangerous goods on it. A Cambridge to Ipswich unit has returned to Stowmarket Not a great night for travelling and tomorrow may still be a mess
  14. Was working up north last week and had a visit to TMC , bought a kit for a random new years eve project... public loo
  15. Great pictures David After the debate on met electric locos earlier this week , a cable between the stock and the loco appears to be visible. I would assume the system required 2 cables
  16. Interesting pictures David. Did the Midland section close in 59 with the M&GN? Shame that preservation project failed
  17. Used to be Jo but get flashing yellows at long Eaton for a 20mph junction
  18. Not always preceeded by flashing yellows often two yellow, one yellow and red which is approaching controlled which will clear to the appropriate aspect with a feather
  19. Did they have traction current jumpers between stock and loco? I was thinking loco has no boiler or ETH capability so heating must have been electric
  20. Great pictures David Is Sarah Siddons hauling a unit or did the coaching stock have shoe beams for heating and lighting?
  21. I wish they were a grand now, I'm looking at 15 to 20k. To be honest I'm sort of looking at it as an investment. Probably not the best one but certainly a fun one If I buy the best I can afford get decent insurance and keep it in heated garage it may work
  22. With the risk of being cast into a blazing tar pit for sacrilege I'm on the look out for an SD1 vitesse. Ideally a really good to mint single plenum one. Twin plenum ones command a premium for little reward. I've heard stories of the being 220bhp but the owners club told me this is not true and only advantage is hand built blueprinted engine when new. The throttle bearings wear on them causing idling issues which are very expensive to sort So my ideal car is a manual late single plenum with the big front spoiler
  23. Evening Rob, merry Christmas to you and all on here Is that last picture 2012? Infrastructure and vegetation management looks too good for network rail era
  24. Morning David Merry Christmas hope you have a nice day Is the first picture not a classic? Looks to have Bullied wheels
