  1. Is this to supplement their existing loco hauled stock or to replace it ?
  2. Hiya Kev I wondered if this was you mate I don't have any work stuff on my layout, would possibly have one of the original 50s/60s flatrols if an RTR model ever became available. I did look at building a railhead but I've not really got room now Cheers Russ
  3. Are you going to remove all that air brake interlock gear? I remember being at barrow Hill and looking at that stuff when being fitted What do site rail use nowadays?
  4. Apparently after it was rerailed it was taken to Brandon and suffered a graffiti attack
  5. It's weird how people have good results and others don't. I found track magic horrible and It's supposed to attack plastic
  6. Sorry Iain I hadn't noticed the link , I've now read it What I can't really understand is that IPA and WD40 contact cleaner completely evaporate so are just a cleaning solution and shouldn't leave anything behind I'm about ⅔ through cleaning my layout with IPA, what I will do is clean last third with WD CC and see which parts of the layout needs cleaning again first. There is quite a bit to do as the layout has 200yds of track
  7. Interesting, what effect does non polar and polar have? I wonder if that IPA is the 99.9% or the weaker stuff that they have in Australia. Think I'll put some WD40 contact cleaner on too
  8. Thanks, I have been using 99.9% IPA and WD40 contact cleaner but I understand now the WD40 doesn't actually leave any protective coat. It's great on wheels
  9. This isn't really DCC specific but couldn't find anywhere else to put it I've noticed a few youtube videos mainly from Australia singing the praises of INOX MX3 fluid on track. The gist of it is that this is put on track after cleaning and it leaves a residue which is supposed to keep it clean When you read about it it says it's a lubricant so the last thing you need on railhead. Has anyone got experience of it? The only place I've found it for sale in the UK is a slot car specialist, obviously a lubricant would be an advantage here to reduce friction
  10. As its a tesla it might be emitting fumes from a battery fire!
  11. Have to ba a bit careful doing that a few electric window operations and it will be stranded with a flat battery 😀
  12. It's not just there Simon it's everywhere. Modern railway is horrible, up until privatisation yards were on the whole well maintained but now just left to rot then they have the cheek to try and blame traincrew when the inevitable derailment happen
  13. I'd get really sick of that bloke shouting ease up everytime that uncoupling device is used. I hate to hear voices on dcc sound. Or other stupid sounds that aren't there in real life. My accurascale 37 is ruined by an AWS horn everytime it changes direction
  14. Wonder what the driver of the 66 would make of the cab of the Q10? Probably quite jealous of the warmth and quietness!
  15. I've ordered D5803 not very ER if it has those stickers. Has anyone renumbered an accurascale loco yet? Paint doesn't look too thick on the 37 so I do wonder I f the tcut method will remove base colour
  16. Excellent pictures David, did green arrow work 2 trains that day . I was on a railtour that day from Middlesbrough to Dinting via Newcastle I can't remember it's name , the V2 took it from York to Dinting via the hope Valley and returned over woodhead Seems like yesterday hard to believe 45 years ago!
  17. Having never attended Warley because it was always busy do people expect this to be the same? I think my favorite exhibition is donny , normally go Saturday afternoon and is fairly quiet later so layouts can be viewed nicely
  18. 03 D2051 was green with arrows and yellow buffer beams too I have a feeling it may have gone from plain green to this.
  19. I've ordered the accurascale 5803 and the blue one with 4 arrows . I might try and get another 5803 and make a 4 arrow one
  20. I've seen pictures 03s, 15s and I think there was a Deltic with them I'm sure people will know of others
  21. Thanks Rob Think that's outside my time frame unfortunately I'm doing 68/69
  22. I was hoping to find small yellow panel ones. I'm hoping accurascale are going to do arrows on GFYE it really does look smart Unfortunately it's not possible to do this livery correctly on the Hornby one as the central band has no relief
  23. Thanks for that, were 5557/61 headcode or disc locos
  24. This raises another question relevant to my layout did any of the early kk2 FKs in maroon or blue and grey work on the GE section
  25. Did 5623 5557 and 61 have these with small panels and later style numbers?
