  1. And yet now it's working fine. Very strange...
  2. So, interesting moment. I've managed to fit a Bachmann/Zimo 6 pin decoder only to find a bit of a puzzler. Fitted one way round and the light flicker for the smokebox but no motor movement, yet fitted "upside down" and the motor runs but no lights. Anyone have any ideas or fixes before I close it up and contact Dapol?
  3. If you're looking for inspirations for smaller mainline loco's how about some of the following: http://www.lner.info/locos/Y/y.shtml http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GWR_0-4-0ST Similar to what you already produce and true scale models of 0-4-0 layout are something of an underrepresented area!
  4. Whilst I realise there's a discussion about the accuracy of the Hornby site with regards to products, they still seem to think it'll be produced... http://www.Hornby.com/shop/locomotives/steam-locomotives/r3125x-gwr-2-8-0t-52xx/
  5. Hmmm wonder how hard it would be to back date it to an LSWR era. After all the superheater upgrade started in 1919, just need to get the correct number! Or are their other things that would need modifying?
  6. Talk about living up to your name That aside, I find it interesting that some people say pre-grouping doesn't have a "big" following, yet here is more proof that if you produce something, people will buy it!
  7. Randomly I was looking at an old edition of Hornby Magazine, I can't remember which one either 2009 or 2010, and almost all the top 10 were now available R-T-R. It may take a while but it does seem that the big four do pay a fair bit of attention to it. I will have to try and find it again. Another vote for a decent LNER shunter of some description, other than the J94 you're already doing and the Y1, and some more DMU's. Updated 155/156 maybe?
  8. With the...erm issues Hornby seem to be having with some of their latest releases I'm sure there're plenty that would prefer Bachmann to do them!
  9. Hi Adam, Very interesting and badly needed models. What sort of price will these be going for? Good luck with the venture!

You could if you're modelling a preservation line...
  11. I think some EP examples might be worth seeing too before I commit!
  12. B1 is a different kettle of fish though. The Bachmann one is based on a how many years old tooling? Whereas the Hornby one is brand new build.
  13. May be a bit early in proceedings, but is there chance of a GNR liveried version?
  14. To be honest, you might be better off getting the Railroad chassis for the Airfix body. A lot cheaper and probably less/easier to cut.
  15. Many thanks, I'l be leaving it off then! Glad I wasn't going totally mad...
  16. http://www.Bachmann.co.uk/image_box.php?image=images1/branchline/39-621.jpg&cat_no=39-621&info=0&width=500&height=264 There's what they're producing, and you never know, they may do green ones after a while. Sales will dictate how many runs they have I should imagine.

Now then, how do I smuggle this one home past the wife...

This help Geoff? Know it's labelled 1980 but... http://railphotoprints.zenfolio.com/p274090425/h1031be71#h435622d2 Could be wrong but that looks a lil like a red dot under the number.
  19. Well I've finally found where the little box in the bag of bits goes (L/H side under the coal bunker) but still can't find any pictures to clear up what it is. Unfortunatly I can only find two pictures of the L1 in LNER colours, one on the box and one on LNER.info, and neither shed any light on the matter. Does anyone know of any pictures that may help?
  20. Just found the announcement in HM. Apparently it's diagram 556 for those that asked.
  21. Something like this maybe http://www.fictitiousliveries.co.uk/photo.php?37999_bodykit.jpg Yes I realise it's a 37 really but just stretch the imagination a little more...
  22. Hi Mick, just a quick question. What do you use for replacement handles on the Mk 2 based stock? I've had a look through at all the great stuff on here but can't see an obvious answer!
  23. It is, slight error in your reading there fatmac!
