  1. In addition to this it also allows a spreading out of purchases. For example I already have several Pullman coaches which I will run with the power cars until funds allow me to purchase some of the correct coaches. I would imagine others will do the same or similar.

    Dapol Class 22

Mission failed, just seems random which valences cause the problem.

    Dapol Class 22

I'm now gonna throw some treacle into the finely tuned whirrings of this with another observation, one I forgot to mention last night. I have got one valence in situ (one of the red dot ones) and this, coupled MG7305's comment about the kick plates holding the body in place has me thinking it's the valences directly adjacent to the drivers doors that are the problem. I will experiment and report back.

    Hornby B1

Shame the Hornby one's not in LNER Green.....yet.

    Dapol Class 22

Maybe it's just me, but has anyone had issues with the body being a lot looser with the valence's on? Without them I can lift the model by the body, without the chassis just seems to fall out

    Hornby B1

Waiting for SAC's video comparison of the two to help me with the choice. Provided he gets one of each of course!
  7. I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure there's still one of these at the Swanage line, complete with air reservoirs.

    Hornby B1

Still a week to go! I was pretty sure that the promotional pic showing the B1, B17 and suburbans had it in green, but then that may have been computer edited
  9. Doesn't that say something about Bachmann and Hornby's respective tooling principles though? For both EMU's and 4-4-0's Bachmann have eschewed traction tyres and, in the case of the EMU's, have produced a more detailed model, cheaper with smoother rides. I can't remember what my Schools loco has ( I had issues with the tender wire) but you do have to wonder why Hornby seem to be lagging behind almost. Maybe that's not the right words but hope it makes some sorta sense.
  10. Would a 142 be too much of a risk? I know Hornby do one, but they don't look like updating it any time soon (unless you know different?) and I'm sure your new chassis from the 143/144 will be more than perfect.
  11. And this is my problem, my card expires May next year! Ah well, guess I can wait a lil longer before pre-ordering.
  12. Roll on the 450 is all I can say! I did ask Bachmann if it was a possibility when the 350's were announced and was told there were (at the time) currently no plans. That said if enough people ask.....
  13. Sadly not. I was looking for your stand but with no luck!
  14. It's the comment in the advert that makes you wonder.... Whilst not as shocking as some, how is the class 42 unused if it won't run?! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SPARES-REPAIR-Hornby-TRIANG-MAINLINE-DIESEL-LOCOS-/180747833593?_trksid=p4340.m1374&_trkparms=algo%3DPI.WATCH%26its%3DC%252BS%26itu%3DUCC%26otn%3D5%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D4015907261206320334
  15. Maybe it's me, but isn't it odd how most of these dodgy listings "protect" the bidders identity. High price items fair enough, but these? Have to say BiN and "Reserve prices" are the bane of ebay now. Slowly becoming a shopping site not an auction site.
  16. Almost looks like there are none in this one! http://www.flickr.com/photos/rowan826/4089284235/sizes/o/in/photostream/ It could almost be said you need one pointing forward and the other can be put where you want!
  17. Was it ever established where the horns go? From the line drawing in the sheet it would appear to be either side of where the NEM pocket is and I can't see them clearly on any contemporary pictures that come up on google.
  18. Maybe, but when one considers a certain retailer is selling a 4 CEP for only 30 quid more than a replica chassis this gives you the oppertunity to have a "broken down" 4Cep, or two 4CEPs running together, or the Lymington branch etc. On the Cardan arrangement, how about the motor from the Bachmann 150, cut down as I've seen somewhere else on this site with seating fitted around. Maybe better for the blue 4Vep's with the curtains and a restricted cabin view.
  19. Not sure how practical it is, but is there any way of fitting the 4VEP with the 4CEP's motor etc? Or some sort of carden shaft arrangement. Guess it might be too much of a work up though
  20. To be honest, looking at the derth of class 27's for sale I think any runs would be appreciated!
  21. I also believe there's a good deal of work done on the Thumpers in that schedule if I remember rightly.
  22. Mine also arrived today, plain green with no yellow panle, and was soon merrily running it's way round our track. Whilst a lil bit slower than the other stock I have I do seem to have one that's wired correctly. Maybe I'm just lucky!
  23. What about fitting the MJT Corridor connections? They might bring the gangway doors far enough to look right.
