  1. I thought the same as a lot of the photos appeared to show a shiny red loco however my one looks a similar colour to LT red Underground stock and I am very impressed with it. XF
  2. Purchased the Esso red Sentinel yesterday really impressed with it! It will hopefully make it's debut at the oil depot on Croxley WRD at the Acton Depot Open Weekend next month. XF
  3. Competition then as Mr Chumberly - Warner loves Co Bo's too! XF
  4. The cab face has more than a passing resemblance to Alex Salmond! LOL
  5. I found a that there are 2 variations of a Class 501 in Blue with SYP basically there 2 variations one where the warning panel comes up to just under the cab windows as in the photo on the first post of this thread and a smaller warning panel version (small than a green Class 501 with SYP) that is a similar size to a Class 116/7/8 SYP. http://www.flickr.com/photos/brianews/5734184585/in/set-72157626627200109/ This Class 501 is 501133 (051) on the Southern in Departmental use and it retained this livery until withdrawal. I have looked at these photos many a time but never noticed this subtle difference. XF
  6. Nice to see that even the ugly birds find love eventually! XF
  7. Well with the changes at the top at Hornby they should be at least at (customers) starters orders now! XF
  8. All the best to you Colin for a speedy recovery and then back to the EMU building again! Nigel
  9. FiGW offering a 25% discount on all terrain journeys to Cornwall that are affecting by flooding and bus substitution. A pure common sense business decision by FGW for it's shareholders that also benefits the customer in these difficult conditions where no one is a winner! XF
  10. These locos are made on the European mainland where the same rules apply however the interpretation of them is very often significantly different to the UK! XF
  11. Very few photos of 59003 in Germany on the web. Has anyone got any recent pictures of this loco at work in Germany? XF
  12. Green Class 501 passes Croxley Jct, signal box as at enters the depot headshunt. XF
  13. Colin Massingham used to make jokes about his own kits, however he was a modern image model pioneer and he should be remember ed for that and the Class 313 kit he stamped on at a Show whilst laughing, when a well known but controversial model-maker tried unsuccessfully to wind Colin up. LOL Nigel PS MTK 7mm kits were marketed under the trade name El Crappo!
  14. Nice to read how you are doing Simon and think you have a great career ahead of you. Doing something you really enjoy for a career is becoming a rare thing thing and I wish you ever success for the future Nigel
  15. Another photo from Marlow, Maidenhead & District MRC's Cromwell Road layout
  16. Only just found this post - I have made a couple of these signals and will be making more for Croxley WRD. Thanks for posting this Nigel
  17. A photo taken by me last week at the Marlow Maidenhead & District MRC Show - This is the club's O Gauge Cromwell Road layout XF
  18. From the RPA site http://www.railphotoarchive.org/rpc_zoom.php?img=0720025914000 Nigel
  19. Talking to an informed source yesterday it appears that the Marlow Branch debacle might have a potential solution! I understand that a 3 car Class 377 will fit into Marlow platform at Bourne End if the buffers stops are modified slightly as TPWS will stop any potential accidents. It should be remembered that 3 car Class 117 traversed the branch in the past and I travelled on the GWR liveried one on the branch in the early 1990's when there was an event at Bourne End to celebrate? the arrival of the Turbos. XF
  20. Looking really good I like the Langley Station building which looks much better than the prototype building now! Nigel
  21. Paying with my recently purchased Photoshop Elements 11, I managed to recreate an image which pays homage to the real Croxley Green branch which had a few bridges which crossed water including the Grand Union Canal. Nigel
  22. I think it is around a cool £1Trillion and rising, however if Fukushima goes bang debt will cease to be an issue! XF
  23. I have to agree that the Windsor Link at best is poorly thought through and IMO will never happen! A lot of work for little gain and a slow route to London. The amount of work tougher associated costs can never be justified and then there is the environmental impacts. This project will go the same way as the ill thought out Watford -St Albans Light Rail proposal, just give it a few more years! The Staines West Branch closure was in retrospect a bad idea it would have been better to divert the line to the Southern Station and link into the airport as was suggested a part of the Airtrack proposal. Nothing much will happen the short term until we have an agreed strategy for airport expansion and maybe Bozo Island will prevail. It is amazing how a "privatised railway" has so much intereference from the DaFT beggars as I thought that it was a free market economy? To honour of the massive failings at DaFT I propose that the first Bi-muddle IEP be named Jusitine Greening for this lady's major contribution to the rail industry in the UK! XF
