1. Hi again! Still haven't built those b set coaches, but will be getting Ultima bogies for them.
2. Well done on getting in the magazine- Just off to look at it!
3. Very neatly explained. How well do these work if converted to work with electromagnets?
4. Those look really nice- an easily overlooked feature of most American townscapes as well.
5. Hooray- I can go on the West Somerset 1/2 price. I know 6412 is a practical choice for the SDR but 4561 belongs here, not in Somerset! LOL
6. I know the front bogie is on the wonk...
7. I have finally got round to sorting out some more little jobs. The first one was re-numbering and dirtying my Dapol 45xx. I got some Modelmaster brass plates that were great, and some fox buffer beam numbers finished it off. All that is left to do is sort out the disgusting rapido coupling and do the front and back dirty to match the sides. Any comments appreciated as I haven’t varnished it yet. The real 4561 continues to be on static display in one of the museums (Swindon?) but I am hoping for a return to the SW for it soon. Apologies for the lack of super sharpness all over but composite pictures are still a way ahead! The obligatory black and white shot. I have also now got all the trackwork on order to finish the station itself (hooray!) and only need the control panel and point motor wiring that goes with it to finish the nuts and bolts stuff. I have also begun construction of the flight cases for the boards to travel in which have been a monster job in themselves. Will put in a post on them some time as well.
8. Will get back to work on the layout when I put a beetle back together this week!

9. Well done- I couldn't even read the numbers on my B-sets, let alone change them! Will check out the model master transfers, I have used Fox for my goods stock,
10. Sheds rule! (when not sub-zero cold...) The above sounds familiar to many I suspect. I would ditch the insulafrog points if goind DCC. Converting to live frogs is not as hard as people make it sound and you'll get better reliabilty. Looking forward to pictures too.
11. DCC Supplies Cobalts if you want real slow action and frog power http://www.dccsupplies.com/shop/product_info.php?products_id=2949
12. Like the smoke box, tender sides and boiler sides, some obvious brush marks on the tender (sorry) but mostly better than mine so I should shut up at this point... Perhaps an airbrush or a flat ended style "stippling" brush for the dust or try powders?
13. Nice work- I have been painting fantasy minautures for years and would be well pleased with that! Eyes are a sod to do tho.
14. Great- now I just have to persuade the family this will work in our living room...
15. What sort of controls are you going to use? Look forward to seeing some pics as it develops.
16. I know plenty of people who use woodburners in sheds or caravans, often made from old gas canisters (don't try cutting them up yourself!) the key is to totally heatshield all wood around them. I am not sure I'd put one in a shed smaller than 10'x12' tho, they are about 3-5KW minimum and need a large heatproof plate in the roof as well.
I'd take the above advice if your shed is small. If its bigger then clarke make a good propane "space heater" thing but they can blow the air around a bit which can be a pain if your floors dusty.
Jon, inspirational and original as always. That rain effect isn't bad, what programme is it?
17. There are several bridges carrying lanes across the branch in the run up to Sorley, all in town and mostly acessible to the public. I am currently modelling my 2nd overbridge.
18. Amazing tiny work as usual.
19. Ouch- Broken ribs suck. Hope you're mended soon.
20. Thanks Kris. Those drawings you sent sorted out my KBridge plans. If you would like a scale set of drawings for the main station building I now have them. That was my thinking too. I am trying to make a few modular scenic boards so I can vary the length of the run in. Eventually I plan to have some sections from the whole length of the branch, the crossing station and maybe the main line junction station at Brent so I can run some mainline engines and stock, plus have a branch service leaving an tootling down the branch. I have no idea where I'd be able to operate such a layout however...
