  1. Absolutely. Pity no RF, or open restaurant vehicles.
  2. A revised smoke box door on the V2 would help, and revised valve gear. Further Thompson coach diagrams would be delightful RF, BG
  3. In addition to new toolings I hope there'll be some reliveries. Though we've had plenty of those through the year. Sadly the Bachmann announcements don't generally same excitement as Hornby that maybe my impression only I guess.
  4. Is the catering twin ex coronation/west riding?
  5. I sure that headlamps were tried before. One of the first Duchess of Sutherland locos in the late 70s. It was quickly dropped. Is the black 5 and turbomotive an example of us not learning from past mistakes? With respect to bargains fairly recently I obtained 13 mks (1 Bsk, 2 cks and the rest SOs and SKs) for150.00. I've been fortunate with other bargains. The second hand market remains boyant. Toy fairs, dealers and eBay. Some dealers are desperate to shift stock.
  6. When will we see 60103, in service?
  7. It looks great. But isn't the lower lining on the tender a tad high?
  8. I think there's a strong possiblity that Bachmann and Hornby have one planned
  9. I too keep telling my self I don't need another A3. But then I see one on eBay or at a toy fair and the rest is history
  10. But as has been mentioned, catering cars, not just for the ECML are very poorly represented.
  11. Lining a coach with a bow pen I've failed to master, are there any fips your contact can pass on. Coach looks excellent
  12. Tony, are the vehicles heavy. What I mean is would an RTR A4 or A1 shift the rake?
  13. The Bachmann EFE versions with discount will be £50 ish each. You pays your money take your choice..... I think these were introduced in late 60/ 61
  14. The SPM are just under £40 ea. The alternative to the SPM or Heljan is the Bachmann EFE versions announced a few months back. Werepoilt for choice.
  15. Because the Bachmann versions are priced far more cheaply perhaps.....
  16. Has any magazine reviewed the maroon versions? Or is this practice not done?
  17. No problem Tony, your memory of who and what visited LB is amazing. Yes I brought the A2/3 (DJH) on the same visit. I rushed the painting of it in readiness for the visit. Bad idea! It was Hycila at the time but will become a different A2/3 in due course as I think it ran with a 117 boiler until 61. A repaint will be a good idea too! Your quite probably right about the hand rail on 60508. But the boiler is I think a little high. W.r.t the A2/2 PDK I think offer two variants not sure which kit to go for to model 60503/4. A build a future date. As regards Micklner's A2/1 is stunning.
  18. Hi Tony, the 60508 that you attribute to Andy is mine no idea to whom 60507 belongs. The boiler still sits too high and will need attention at some point. I'm tempted to approach Pdk for a new loco body to rebuild do it. The brass, resin and white metal construction was a real pain. It runs nicely though
  19. I missed which decoder maker - sorry if it was stated- I had one which wouldn't alter. A lenz. Eventually just binned it
  20. I'm fairly sure that the Thompson pantry cars carried Restaurant Car branding. I've not access to it at the moment, we're in the process of a house move. There's a photo of one in the Harris book with I think the branding applied. I applied the branding to my version which was derived from comet etches. Which I'll run with an RF. The Harris photo is maroon. Not many Thompson pantry's were constructed.
  21. How many 9fs do you operate on PN?
  22. Thanks for the visit offer. Perhaps sometime over the summer... I do have a "Lizzie", like yours derived from older tooled vehicles. Though I've not been able to resist the new Bachmann maroon versions.
