  1. I keep hoping one of these threads will unearth a shot of 31294 in green but it must have been the most elusive loco ever, only one shot is known and that not that great, though unmistakeably 31294. One of these days.
  2. I have a copy of this book, very useful though a few errors.
  3. Yes I realised this earlier today. I've even got a shot of 7051 in the scrapline minus the white window surrounds. 7018 I meant to read that the list without panels is often quoted as 7000-18 but in fact it is 7000-19, I can see the confusion, sorry. 7018 was NOT delivered with panels. I have some doubt as to 7075 being GFYE, does anyone have a shot?
  4. I have the following as a summary; 1) 7000-19 (not 7018) delivered without panels. 2) Blue without window surrounds 7004/7/51 (7004 later with window surrounds white) 3) Blue with white window surrounds 7010/2/27/34/6/40/6-8/52/6/7/9/64. 4) GFYE. 7000/9/13/4/6/8/20/3/31/75/84/92-4/7. 5) Scrapped in GSYP 7002/3/5/6/8/21/4/5/54/60 6) Scrapped GFYE 7013/4/20 7)Scrapped BHYP 7007/51 (no surrounds) 7010/34/6/40/6/7/52/6/7/9 I think this is accurate but any updates welcomed. 7045 is often listed as BHYP but I don't think so.
  5. No but 40140 was breifly green TOPS so it was repainted in early 1974, best I can do.
  6. Good shots. But the original request was for BSYP......:-)
  7. How certain are you of that Graham? I am pretty sure but do you know for a fact that none of the rest did? I only knew of D5708 for many years until a shot of D5707 appeared. if you're 100% sure I'm happy to take that as gospel.
  8. Can now be 100% certain that D5709 did NOT have FYE. It never ran in traffic after June 1965 and lay in Crewe Works fopr two years before being towed back to Upperby minus engine. https://www.flickr.com/photos/12a_kingmoor_klickr/9670531413/
  9. Hmmmm I suspected as much. That's good because I can delete that record as tripe now.
  10. Pretty sure it didn't. But it may have done...

  12. I did publish the full list or repaints of 40s green to blue some while back in Railways Illustrated, happy to send it to anyone who needs it. Or just print it here, prob easier.
  13. D8501 BFY ?? Definitely-repainted blue Nov 1967. D8506 GFY ?? According to RO, yes. D8517 GSY (probably) D8518 GSY (probably) D8533 GSY (probably) D8544 GSY (probably) D8547 GSY (probably) Some possibility of GFYE D8553 reported as GSY & BFY D8555 GSY (probably) D8569 GSY (probably) D8575 GSY (probably) D8578 GSY (probably) D8581 GFY ?? According to RO yes D8589 GFY (probably) D8594 GFY (but i believe it may of gone in GSY) D8596 GFY ?? D8599 GSY (probably) D8602 GFY ?? D8603 GSY (probably) D8609 GSY (probably) The others match my records.
  14. Sure on that Trev? I have 8514 and 8571 down as blue ex works 10/10/70 listed in railway magazine Dec 1970.
  15. Railway Obsever March 1967 reports D8403 had them on 28/1/67. No photo in my collection though.
  16. I've got the same dates. 9001 was AB fiited in early 1968 but was outshopped in patched up green.
  17. Only 45s. Toton sprayed at least 20 in June 1966. D4 is supposedly another but all the evidence says not.
  18. I've been trying to discover the last regular steam workings along the Erewash Valley and also in Nottingham and Derby. Last I can find for the Erewash is Dec 1966 but I'm sure there were a few into 1967. 45284 appeared at Nottingham Midland in either July or Aug1967.
  19. As is the way of these another typo that slipped by me. D172 is listed as repainted by Brush 14/10/66 which it WAS serviced by but remained in economy green until late 1970. I missed updating it as I screened the dates.
  20. I don't know when 25 got GFYE, the shot is dated 15/2/69 so it may have been as much as two years beforehand. It wasn't long after as the article shows another shot of it ex works blue a few weeks later. I suspect it was not that much previously as so few shots exist.
  21. The other Class 12 was 15211, I have a good colour shot of it but can't post here, though I can PM you with it.
  22. There is one other that as is the way of these things came to light after the event, GFYE no 25 also lost its D prefix along with 30. Hope you enjoyed the article and found the gen useful.
