  1. YES, Dealt with him a few times and he is an excellent ebay seller. Replies when emailed. As you say Honest as far as what he is selling goes....in this instance you can see it anyway, but other times even though the item has looked good if you read the screed you would know what you are going to get. He gets my vote as a seller to deal with. Khris
  2. And just think, If you were in the US they would be at each others throats in litigation of the name! khris
  3. NOT this seller BUT, I have bought these type articles before and the whole magazine arrived. Suited me as I didn't have the mag anyway which is why I bought the article. Judging by the postage charge I would suggest that this seller is "probably" selling the whole mag. Khris
  4. Well Comet models, Martin Finney and all the other kit manufacturers don't have to worry about me..... I'm NOT going into the car kit building group :scratchhead:
  5. Pity about the link....might have been worth a laugh!
  6. I use diluted PVA, AFTER wetting down with wet water. I must admit the stuff Martin has mentioned reminds me of stuff we used 40 years ago to hold down underfelt. If I knew what it was called I would use today as I could see the benefits of using it in preference to pva. Khris
  7. Guys, The actual ad says....never been out of the box. The Toad is sitting on a piece of track! I suggested, tongue firmly in the cheek, that the toad was in a see through box. if that was the case the certificate had to be see through as you could see through to the toad! khris
  8. Keith, Is it a see thru box?? It says "never been out of the box" Cannot understand where the certificate is though if it is still in the box!! Khris
  9. A guy asked a girl in a library; “Do you mind if I sit beside you”? The girl answered with a loud voice; I DON’T WANT TO SPEND THE NIGHT WITH YOU!!! All the students in the library started staring at the guy and he was embarrassed. After a couple of minutes, the girl walked quietly to the guy’s table and she told him “I study psychology and I know what a man is thinking, I guess you felt embarrassed right?” The guy responded with a loud voice: "$200 JUST FOR ONE NIGHT!? THAT’S TOO MUCH!!! And all the people in the library looked at the girl in shock and the guy whispered in her ears; “I study Law and I know how to make someone look guilty"
  10. Jan, I wouldn't feel down. It's taken me over 2 1/2 years to get this far. Now, when you look at what Coachman has been doing AND the rate of knots he has been going.....that , puts me to shame. In the end it is a hobby so it gets done when it gets done.
  11. Well, After great visions that the blog may help me move thyself.....I have failed. At least I am putting up an entry. It is unfortunate that I keep forgetting to take pics although there are a couple here now. Work is progressing on the layout. I have even managed to put down nearly a packet of DAS Clay....looks like I have done nothing though. Now I have to pull it up....why you ask. Dumbo here, had been moving things about and did NOT double check the alignment. Maiden Newton Goods shed is NOT aligned to the rest of the sidings as such. The line is on a curve. This also throws out the stub siding into the end of the platform for the cattle dock. It should run parallel to the mainlines and not kick back as in this pic. Ho Hum.... I continue........... I have been working on the road overbridge as well. The first lot of brick supports were Ok, well passable. So i have made new ones in a lot thicker styrene. The above shows one under construction...I remembered to take a pic Kept making one mistake and when you look at the photo's (noticeable in the pic looking side on of the bridge, I keep putting the bricks on the WRONG side of the supports....namely on the side you don't see....... I only noticed this while resizing to publish here. And for the hell of it, the branchline terminal station was Bridport and then Westbay. For the purposes of my modellers license I am modelling Tetbury. Trackwork is done. One pic below. Hopefully, I may be able to update a bit quicker...one consolation I will get there, so long as I don't croak it first!
  12. There were two nuns. One of them was known as Sister Mathematical (SM), and the other one was known as Sister Logical (SL). It is getting dark and they are still far away from the convent. SM: Have you noticed that a man has been following us for the past thirty-eight and a half minutes? I wonder what he wants. SL: It's logical. He wants to **** us. SM: Oh, no! At this rate he will reach us in 15 minutes at the most! What can we do? SL: The only logical thing to do of course is to walk faster. A little while later... SM: It's not working. SL: Of course it's not working. The man did the only logical thing. He started to walk faster, too. SM: So, what shall we do? At this rate he will reach us in one minute. SL: The only logical thing we can do is split up. You go that way and I'll go this way. He cannot follow us both. So the man decided to follow Sister Logical. Sister Mathematical arrives at the convent and is worried about what has happened to Sister Logical. Then Sister Logical arrives. SM: Sister Logical! Thank God you are here! Tell me what happened! SL: The only logical thing happened. The man couldn't follow us both, so he followed me. SM: Yes, yes! But what happened then? SL: The only logical thing happened. I started to run as fast as I could and he started to run as fast as he could. SM: And? SL : The only logical thing happened. He reached me. SM : Oh, dear! What did you do? SL : The only logical thing to do. I lifted my dress up. SM : Oh, Sister! What did the man do? SL: The only logical thing to do. He pulled down his pants. SM: Oh, no! What happened then? SL : Isn't it logical, Sister? A nun with her dress up can run faster than a man with his pants down. And for those of you who thought it would be dirty, Say two Hail Marys!
  13. Paddy was a youthful and hard working Irishman at a Coastal village in Ireland . Daily he would pole a heavy old punt out to sea then work a heavy iron grapple to bring up the sand oysters which he sold to the local ice works. He was a man of regular habits he always arrived home each day at a certain time. Sadly, Paddy did not realise the heavy grappling was taking a toll on a faulty heart. One day he failed to come home so his wife contacted the Police to investigate him being missing. They rowed out and found Paddy dead in the punt beside him a huge grapple full of oysters he'd tried to hoist aboard. Headlines next day in the 'Irish Times Newspaper' Said......................................... ************************ OYSTERS KILPATRICK !!!!
  14. Not familiar with the up and over door, as to whether it is tracked or not like a tilt a door here. I agree to put in a ceiling, I woiuld also seal the brickwork and if there is any gaps with the door then I would be inclined to put in a wall to seal the door area. Either way you can still have your door with the internal wall and personal access door effectively hidden by the main door. Just some thoughts........ Khris
  15. GBP77 Actually unless you read all the screed it is not that apparent that it is a Non Powered loco.
  16. Carl, I was watching Toplights for a while. Already had some but wanted more. I came close to selling mine on ebay so I could buy 2. They are still available, yet someone was paying 80 odd GBP while curent price is in the 40's Persevere, you will find you can buy well BUT always double check if it is available currently and how much. Khris
  17. From a Newspaper in NSW Aust Dave got a job working the signals on the western rail line near Blayney & after several days on the job a Country Link inspector turns up to see how he is going. "What would you do if you had two trains heading towards each other on the same line? He asks Dave. I'd put the lghts on red & stop them" Dave says. What if the lights were out of action says the inspector. "I'd fire flares" says Dave. "What if they're damp & won't work", says the inspector. "And now the trains are really close." Well, I'd rush out & get Mabel" says Dave. "What could she do?" says the inspector. "Nothing" says Dave , "But she's never seen a train crash before."
  18. I'm surprised he would have the time, at the rate of knots he is going at on the layout. Looking goood and lots of ideas to boot! khris
  19. An attractive blonde from Cork, Ireland, arrived at the casino. She seemed a little intoxicated and bet twenty thousand dollars in a single roll of the dice. She said, "I hope you don't mind, but I feel much luckier when I'm completely nude." with that, she stripped from the neck down, rolled the dice and with an Irish brogue yelled, "Come on, baby, Mama needs new clothes!" As the dice came to a stop, she jumped up and down and squealed... "Yes! Yes! I won, I won!" She hugged each of the dealers, picked up her winnings and her clothes and quickly parted. The dealers stared at each other dumbfounded. Finally, one of them asked, "What did she roll?" The other answered, "I don't know – I thought you were watching." MORAL OF THE STORY Not all Irish are drunks, not all blondes are dumb ... But all men are men!
  20. FROZEN CRABS and THE BLONDE A lawyer boarded an airplane in New Orleans, with a box of frozen crabs, and asked a blonde stewardess to take care of them for him. She took the box and promised to put it in the crew's refrigerator. He advised her that he was holding her personally responsible for them staying frozen, mentioning in a very haughty manner that he was a lawyer, and proceeded to rant at her about what would happen if she let them thaw out. Needless to say, she was annoyed by his behavior. Shortly before landing in New York, she used the intercom to announce to the entire cabin, "Would the lawyer who gave me the crabs in New Orleans , please raise your hand?" Not one hand went up.... So she took them home and ate them and they were simply delicious. Two lessons here: 1. Lawyers aren't as smart as they think they are. 2. Blondes aren't as dumb as some people might think.
