Hi
Do you realise that 10, 14 and 18 would probably been yellow disks. This would allow a train to shunt past them in the ON position, provided the points were set away from the main running lines..

What scale are you working in?

I hav'nt yet decided how to hold the flap in it's working position. I think that I need to finalise the exact position of the station building before I can decide.

Hi
The bottom sheets of ply has parts that have been removed on all baseboards, this is both to reduce weight and allow access for the wiring and electronics.

I'm happy with the results. I have learned much as a result. My advice to anyone else is have a go!

The main reason for the fire hazard, from steam engines, was and still is, the small pieces of hot coal, which fly out of the chimney, when the engine is working hard.
This is caused by the blast, derived from the exhaust steam, being converted into a partial vacuum inside the smoke box.
Some of these hot coals are trapped by the smoke box. And hence it has to be cleared out by the fireperson on a regular basis..

I'm planning on using acrylic paints to colour the stonework, doors and windows ect, so if I get it wrong, I can wipe the paint off with a damp rag, let it dry and try again!

I have never attempted to build a sissors crossing, I am filled with admiration of your skills and pluck in tacking this project.

I have now arrived home, and I am using a more powerful computer, so the errors in the blog posting have now been corrected.

I have had serious problems editing the blog entry, this was due to the under powered computer in the libruary, and the over zelious application of security features!

The station had a single wide double sided passanger platform and a goods platform on the left hand side.

I think that their railway has the sharpest curves of any standard gauge passenger carrying railway in the world! Unless you know any better.

I have now uploaded the picture of the coach bogie! The part of the curve photographed is the tightest part!
Lisa

Oh yes it is, the coaches are ex 4 wheeled ones with 5 compartments. They have 2 very short bogies, they are 3' between the wheel centres.
Lisa
PS I have a picture of the bogies, but cannot find it now, it will follow later.

The best source of small wood screws that I have found is B&Q. But you will have to look carefully or ask an assistant, as they are only sold as a box full, and in my local B&Q they aren

The plan is to do more work on the locomotive shed including adding the workshop on the left hand side looking towards St Helier Weighbridge and then start on the Smithy.
Then move on to starting the painting.

I have just noticed that in the photograph attached the house has no chimneys, whereas the model does.

If anyone has more ideas how I can keep the backscene in position, don't be too shy to tell me!

Sometimes RMWeb is like a man. You can ask it nicely to do something, BUT if it does not want to, it won't do it, no matter how nicely you ask it.
To upload the second photograph I had to put it on a memory stick. Get my bike out and cycle into St Helier. Go into the Central Library and use one of their computers. It then uploaded first time. I had tried six times from home!

HiYou can still see that station buildings at Cearwsw, used by the light railway trains, from the trains to and fro from Machynlleth. To get to the light railway station it was quite a walk from the main line one. The light railway seems to have be built for freight, passangers seem, very much, to have been an after thought.
