  1. As promised yesterday here are some more. Not seen much of the 'oss, so here's one, just to prove he's not been turned into burgers The best shot I could get of Andy's cottages And another viewed through the canal bridge / tunnel sorry the important bit is not in focus. Well that's all folk's. SS

  5. Hi Ron. Not long now until you will have to get down to some very serious modelling, to cover those impresive boards in historic Manchester in 4mm. I look forward to the progress updates. Happy modelling. SS.
  6. The head of Bullhead rail is of a different section to the foot, so it only has two wear faces as per flat bottom. If the head of the rail was worn enough to fit in a chair it would have been scraped long ago. SS
  7. Many years ago the Newport Clubs Long Suffren layout had an operating slip coach, but that's about as much as I remember, so I can't help with how they did it. Perhaps one of their members or ex members, not as in deceased as per Norwegian Blue's, is on here and can help. SS
  8. Hi Matt I just plaster it on and wrap the model in a plastic carrier bag for about 24 hours. I then give it a good scrub with an old nail brush and an old tooth brush, if the paint is very stuborn I will repeat the process. SS
  9. Most Motors were two corridor connected auto cars to Dia's Q, R, V, W & X. SS Edit to add Dia X
  10. I beg to ask the question, if it's on the back of a RAC lorry will it make the Ally Pally in a fortnight? SS
  11. Hi Ron Will that not deplete the stock of load testing weights? SS PS tried to add a smiley but the option is greyed out.
  12. I agree, that Flossie needs to be weathered! unless she's just come from the judging at an agricultural show. SS
  13. At least one sub was tied up there well into the seventies if not into the early eighties, not sure when it eventually disappeared and it's final fate. Cheers SS
  14. Is there any problem with the loco pick up's as they run across the paper? Cheers SS
  15. Hi Chris I have charged up the batteries in my small pocket sized camera, just in case although the results may become a bit blurred as the day wears on. SS
  16. Many Thanks Dave, I have done a few at the Brum end, so will be looking to do a few in the black Country. It looks as if I will need to hollow me legs out to get all that beer in. Cheers SS
  17. Hi Dave Will be using a West Mids rover ticket, so anywhere in the area, preferably without to much bus travel as that is the day job. Cheers SS
  18. Hi Does anyone have any pointers on Liquid refreshment venues close to (say a 10 minute stagger) railway stations (open) or tram stops as I a will be in the area to partake of a few bevies of the local kind on Saturday. Cheers SS
  19. Where I worked all empty gas bottles were always marked MT in chalk, Acetylene bottles don't like any other angle than upright because of the Acetone in them. If you get one that has been laid down it has to be stood upright for at least 24hrs before use. BOC don't like getting them back laid down either. SS
  20. Used it on more than one occassion. It led to a few neck breaking minutes on discovering it had been closed, as many in Plymouth have been since then. SS
  21. My Dad used to work at a builders merchants until about '62 or '63 and the main part of the yard was concrete where the lorries and vans were, but the more distant parts where there was little or no vehicular traffic were compacted earth or possibly ash. Cheers SS
  22. There used to be a Davenports pub in Bristol Just round the corner from the Infirmary. SS
