  1. Looking good! I like the evening scene at the beach... brings back memories
  2. Just found this group... I'm in Christchurch, just across the valley from Ferrymead (alas, not for long though)
  3. I'm going down the same route now too... Will be godo to have some reliable track to be able to just get out and play with... and not be disheartened about progress at all
  4. Oh how I wish I could see this in person! Maybe you could make a special trip down with it to the next Chch show? Can you show us your view of it too?
  5. Thats OK. Everyone has those moments (especially me! )

    The new plan

Will this be N or 00? It looks really impressive and I look forward to seeing it progress!
  7. Sounds like a 20x11 challenge entry idea to me...
  8. Wow that looks good! Watching and waiting for more update from across the ditch
  9. Will be interesting to see how you get on. I'm going to be attempting the same in N eventually...
  10. Are we allowed to have 2x 20"x11" parts that link together, provided that they stack vertically within the 11" vertical space?
  11. Looking forward to seeing this one, especially given how good Ring Road is!
  12. That's a nice farm... would you call it a typical layout for that sort of age? If so, I may just have to utilize your links
  13. It looks amazing already! Can't wait to see it complete!
  14. The problem for me is getting a short way into it and having *everything* else coming up, leading to not being able to get anything done on it for months... and then losing motivation to do anything more. I think with settrack it should help this, and help me get things done faster/easier, in turn letting me play trains sooner for more motivation
  15. Please post your templot version... I would be keen to have a play with this layout too Although given my luck of recent I will likely attempt to do it in settrack... maybe it will help stop me getting so discouraged so quickly...

    Website problems

I have dedicated servers in the cloud (I run a web development business) if you want to shift - give me a yell! Nate
  17. There was an article in railway modeller on how to upgrade the turntable... I'm halfway through mine (like everything else!) - basically putting wheels on it to make it run smoothly. Frizinghall models also offer a motorising kit which appears to be worth the cost. As for the wiring - there should have been a pair of wires with it that you can wire straight to the track or to the controller Good luck!

    Das Yard!

Have you thought about filler? (the type used when building that is applied with a spatula)

    Snow job

Definitely ballast, then give the ballast a light covering of snow. On a busy line the snow is likely to get melted or blown off with trains passing
