A bit of an update on 37057

Cosmetically it has lost the "Viking " nameplates and the marker lights have a yellow surround.

post-9211-0-82215400-1386604670_thumb.jpg

I didn't remove the  High intensity lights...I thought I would do more harm than good.

post-9211-0-39478700-1386604685_thumb.jpg

The bogies have been replaced and lowered and rewheeled, the new  versions  look good.

Just add Couplings and hoses, and she can join 37216

Next Project is 47014

Just out of the Stratford paintshop today

But more about that next time

I reckon you have the ability to remove that light no problem big man ;)

Loving all the blue and large logo-ness, when's the catalyst for backing dating WL fully to the happy blue/large logo/sub sector era? (i will get those ffa/fga flats finished honest!)

Edit: email coming that requires your attention to help me with that thing i'm doing, i'll appologise now if it's not easy to measure in it's current state! Ta ta.

Ah fresh box pron! Plain boxes do seem to be getting more common, or is it just me?

I've got a theory that because plain boxes are more forgettable we think it's plainer now, but in reality there were just as many 'plain jane' boxes about in the past, some of that due to 'decalling' technology I suspect...plenty of 70s/80s ones are no more complex livery-wise than a few initials on a logo panel.

You're probably right, and if it's not an item you're looking out for then the plain ones are a lot less noticable than ones with huge logo's on the sides. For example most remember the old freightliner boxes from that period because they were a big bright splash of colour.

*edit cause i hit the wrong button before finishing typing

Right boys and girls, i have a free pass from Friday lunch to do some hard-core train geeking! Where and when is my best shot for some intermodal action? Plus other interesting stuff of course! I'll be near the ECML at Huntingdon from 12 (it's a short shot up to Peterborough) and to get home i'll need to cross the MML and WCML near Milton Keynes with an option of shooting off to Didcot before getting back. Any advice as i don't get many chances?!

If you're shooting stuff then you'll run out of light before 4pm I suspect, which doesn't give you much time for a tour :(

Peterborough in the afternoon should get you:

13.10 - EWS Wakefield-Felixstowe

14.25 - FL Doncaster-Felixstowe

14.40 - GBRF Felixstowe-Doncaster

15.30 - FL Leeds-Felixstowe

15.55 - GBRF Selby-Felixstowe

All those are routed via Ely, so somewhere like Whittlesea?

(Plus assorted other freights) - times from the latest Freightmaster book

Bletchley (looking at RTT) http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/search/advanced/BLY/2013/12/12/1300-1600?stp=WVS&show=non-passenger&order=wtt

I'd read that as 6 likely intermodals, including a DRS pair, in the same 1300-1600 time frame, so slightly more, but fewer non-intermodal freights.

I used a blue Vi Trains 47 for this project

It has been resprayed Rail freight grey ,detailed and Shawplan lazerglaze fitted

The wheels changed for EM Gauge, and a new pick up system made.

It has an ESU v 3.5 sound chip fitted (needs an upgrade Bif)

To fit the base a reflex speaker the main pcb has to be moved forward.

In this Picture you can see the bar for the spratt and winkle couplings we use on Oldshaw.

at the other end is a screw link...for the new layout.

Oldshaw is a West Country Layout by Andrew Bartlett

He would have a fit to see all these aliens on his layout.
