Wheal Elizabeth at Manchester - new passenger service

Just a few photos from the Manchester show at the weekend. The new end to end format allowed us to have a lot of fun playing with new trains. The Class 108 DMU needs a bit of work to stop it falling off quite so much (either weight or compensation) as the lightweight nature of some of the bogies meant it was a little unstable.

All in all, it was really good fun. I only had the phone, so apologies for the poor quality of some of the photos.

Wheal Elizabeth will be back out in 2013. It's due to be at Stafford in Feb, Scalefour North in April and Expo EM North in Sept.

I've a couple of exhibitions already booked for 2014 too, so it'll be around for a while yet.

Looks good Andrew - I would think the re-vamp has made it seem like a whole new layout with new ways of working to increase interest for yourself & viewers :)

I like the look of the Ruston (?) works shunter & the 22 looks very much at home. I think the 108 must have worked down from my neck of the woods & didn't get the destination blind changed though! ;)

Never mind the passenger service - those Tullis Russell hoppers really do look superb. Will definitely be on the lookout for this on the circuit next year.

Looking great. Having seen it in it's original form it will be interesting to see it with the new addition when it cames to the South East again.

Hi Andrew,

Photos are just fine, mate! Glad you enjoyed yourself last w/e, I only wish I had had more time to drool over your layout and have a good chat!

Cheers,

John E.
