It has not been a bad couple of days. Not as long at the bench as I would of liked.

Things are progressing quite nicely. I have the loco frames back together. I will remake the rods and then I will get it running, hopefully it will run well as the chassis is nice and square. I have had to make new cylinder covers. The look 100% better than the original ones.

The running plate is now folded up the right way out. The front stepdown has been remade you will see why in the following photos. I will have to do the same with the rear step down too. The rear one will not be so bad as there is a lack of rivet detail. The front is now almost complete I jst need to make the ovelays for the front framing. I soldered up all the splasher and framing folds which has helped to stiffen things up.

The boiler and smoke box where rolled a little while ago but the photos are here now. Both surprised me by forming very nicely I though I may need to remake both.

The cab is ready for reassembly. Again nothing needed remaking. I will be try to make the boiler firebox and smokebox removable, I will also look at the cab and see if that can easily be done aswell.

It just goes to show that you can make a silk purse out of a sow's ear! Congratulations, I look forward to seeing the final result.

Wow! Looks beautiful in plain brass.

Hard to believe it's the same loco.

Any ideas on name and livery?

Cheers,

Thanks guys.

Progress at the moment is fine, when I need the castings that will be a different story, with the postal system here and Christmas I reckon end of January for them. It will be painted I will need to hide a few joins with the cut and shut on the running plate later.

I am sure it will be lined BR livery not sure of crest as yet. The name will probably be "St Peter's Hall" as a bit of a giggle, for me any way.

Looks like the footplate valencing also includes the kinked section just before the cab. They didn't allow for that in the Falcon kit!

Yes it has the kinked section on the footplate. The footplate itself is a seperate etching, which I am butchering and adding a piece of ten thou brass It will not alter the hieght of the cab just make the floor ten thou higher. It is just me being lazy and not wanting to make two bits. It will not show unless you have vernier eyes.
