    Hornby P2

Hi Thanks for the above confirmations. Started fitted the detailing parts today but have two left over that don't appear on the Hornby sheet. Can anyone say what they are and where they go please?

    Hornby P2

Hi Can I just confirm a few things. My P2 is supposed to be R3207 the normal version not railroad or sound. It comes with name plates but on the pack it says fix headboard with blutak? The valve gear is plastic next to the 2nd set of drivers and there is no actual link between it and a small crank that spins around behind it. The tender is permanently coupled and has no pick ups. Just want to make sure all is well? Thanks

    Hornby P2

R3207 has arrived at my sheds over all very happy, but a bit miffed Hornby never fitted the brass name plates already as its a bit of a scary job for me. Also not that impressed with the black plastic valve gear, could have been brass or such like. But, what a nice loco.
  4. Can I bump this topic, in exactly the same position and need to get my Mainline class 42 and 45 running again. What are the best options to do this today?

    Hornby P2

Hey, love my 70s Pannier Tank, one of the first locos I got (other was L1) and it still runs nice today! But I know what you mean, I thought the same when I saw the video and the controller they used did nothing for smooth realistic running! Not sure about this loco now, I feel quite annoyed that all the hype about it is still going on yet it seems impossible to buy one as they have all sold out to pre orders! Plus if they were available I can't decide between railroad or normal????

    Hornby P2

To clarify, one of them is shown as TTS Sound, I don't understand this, the Amazon one is shown as this and is £122 or there abouts. Does it mean I can have sound on my normal DC layouts?

    Hornby P2

Hi Is Hornby offering the best price on this? http://www.Hornby.com/lner-2-8-2-cock-o-the-north-p2-class.html Can you pre-order via Hornby? Looks lovely!
  9. Hi all, I've heard quite a few moans about lack of pulling power! not what I have found. If you look at the last part of this video I am sure you will agree
  10. Hi guys, still running well, using the model fixings washers. Funny enough its been out on the test track today taking part in another video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9mNxUGzBZc Love my 14

On the subject of 22s I am sure some of you will be just as interested as I am in Project 22 Its a group taking leaps and bounds towards doing a new build class 22! You can learn more from this video. http://youtu.be/seSPGK4FlQc Just imagine being able to see a real one!

    Dapol Class 22

Hi guys, my 22 started sounding like it had sand in its gears this evening after a few days of easy running. Slow speed it seemed to cog along! Opened her up and despite the warnings of the end of the world if you remove the screws from the plate inside, I did so and found that the flexible arms going from the motor to the worm drives were bone dry! probably never been lubricated. So some Hob-E-Lube gear grease was added to them, oil to worm and drop for motor bearing. Also noticed two wires each side of the drive arms, both were close each end and may account for the snag sound as the bogies turn for curves. Did what I could to ease them as well. Added some gear lube to the gear trains under the bogie frames as well. Now got a smooth 22 again! Hope this helps someone some day
  13. Hi all, my little Sentinel has been running great for some time but I have now noticed a few issues. The wheels seem to have lost their plating, not a great issue but notable all the same. More worryingly the pickups seem to be adrift, when wheel cleaning for example I find one or two wheels don't pick up solidly, looking at the pickups they don't look to be making good contact with the backs of the wheels. Is it a big job to lift off the bottom plate, free the wheels and reset the pickups? Thanks
  14. Hi, is that 54 or five wagons LOL Mine pulls four Bachamnn MK1s ok
  15. Hi gang, well here is my little fellow along with a 08 for size comparison
  16. Mine arrived today and I just came home from work to try it out. First up! what a tiddler! sweet little thing. Running was initially hesitant and a bit grindy, but after a short time smoothed up. I think one wheel is suffering poor pick up. Over all, love it
  17. My red one is due today, but seeing the comments about bad build quality and light through the side panels I am starting to feel disappointed already
  18. Well I weakened and have one on order from Hattons, gone for the red one says they would be in stock on the 24th but not heard anything???
  19. Hi, very tempted by the red one, reminds me of the little loco that used to be at Hilsea gas works near Portsmouth! But I am a bit worried it will look plasticy? does it? Also, Hattons don't seem to have any in stock but are offering them at £45 which seems good, anywhere else doing a good deal.

    Dapol Class 22

Well done on getting it done, I was going to suggest a match stick with a bit of blue tack on one end, use to stick to fish the glazing out and then hold it while applying glue to to the edges. If you see what I mean? LOL

    Dapol Class 22

Hi everyone, well my Precision labels arrived and I've had a go at fitting them to my class 22. Very fiddly job, made me feel a bit like an elephant trying to clean its bum with a bit of confetti! Anyway have attached some photos for you. I can see from them that I still need to smooth them down a bit, but yes much better than the Dapol ones it came with. Thanks for the tip

    Dapol Class 22

Hi everyone, my mine arrived today D6316. Just could not resist it and was most interested to see what Dapol could do! Initially, the cab lights did not work, but found the little plug was out so that's fixed Note the body is quite a sloppy fit by the battery box. Runs nice, little bit gear'ee but I'll let that run in before risking popping the bogie frames off. Looks stunning and more so with all the valances fitted now. My only true moan is the horrible headcode stickers! might need to find a way to slide them off and fit some of my own, that you can see when the loco is not moving. Other than that, what a little stunner
  25. Good afternoon everyone. Finally I have weakened and purchased one of these, was going to happen as I am a Southern man LOL But while the model is lovely and the detail really nice I am bitterly disappointed that Hornby have left off any lights at all! Even the old Triang 3 SUB had lights Guess I have been spoiled by the Bachmann offerings etc Guess I should do my research before parting with the cash. Would I have purchased had I have known? no, not really this to me is a huge step back. That said has anyone added at least head code lights to one yet?
