  1. That must have been edited because it now says: best Scott.
  2. Lord knows I'm not a complainer of prices in general, but doesn't that effectively double the price of the console? I'd probably want immersion akin to that of Red Dwarf's Better Than Life if I was to shell out for all that kit... Best Scott.
  3. Yes. I have photos in my research material of BSKs on Perth/Edinburgh. That’s just off the top of my head, I’d need to dig further for other examples. Best Scott.
  4. After an exchange with Bachman today I can almost guarantee that will be a no. best Scott.
  5. I think before the anecdote we already knew that wasn’t Bachman’s MO. Best Scott
  6. It’s not even as good as that because there isn’t enough of a cross section of different coach types IN THE SAME LIVERY to make a proper train up… Best Scott
  7. As long as you're content to run them light engine...😐
  8. It’s not my photo so I don’t know, but Derby Sulzers states it was built at Crewe and seems to think it’s Kosher: https://www.derbysulzers.com/5061.html Best Scott.
  9. That really does look like excellent modelling. Best Scott.

  11. The shiny and new isn't really what's required. It's the run of the mill and mundane...MK1s (maroon - I only need 12 now to complete the requirements, BSKs and SKs), Mk2s, Thompsons (Maroon)...etc. Best Scott.
  12. Agreed on the first point. however on the second point, in fairness, at the time Revolution were still an unknown quantity. I don’t think they’d delivered anything at that point and their funding method at the time (crowdfunding) was a very novel method at the time which, to my mind, were big factors in the result of eoi. on the back of the 28, which I understand is not selling badly, I wouldn’t mind Rapido producing a 21/29. that said, if Dapol could be relied on to produce it to the standard of their N 22, I’d happily take 4-6 off of their hands instead. Best Scott.
  13. This is very good. I've never heard of it before. Are there anymore available? Best Scott.
  14. I feel your pain with regards sensitive personalities. For what it's worth, I found the document and approach interesting, and just because some may find it unsuitable for them that doesn't mean it's unsuitable for everyone. It seems to me that this planning and documenting approach is very much a part of how you model railways, and all power to you. I have embarked on something similar, although rather than a project management tool it's a document intended to be a hand book for operation and maintenance of the layout. Construction materials, construction methods, wiring schematics, control installation, rationale of the operating sessions, etc., etc. I find it very helpful and gives the layout a professional feel. Your document is very detailed, much more detailed than my approach and, as you say repetitive (by design) in places. However there is definitely some work in there that I found useful and will adapt and use for my own purposes. So, if it's any consolation, at least one individual is glad you've raised the subject and posted your considerable efforts. I'm not sure how it can be viewed as inflicting processes on anyone. If it's not someone's cup of tea, then the have the option not to read it - especially when beforehand what's involved has been laid out. Best Scott.
  15. @Clagmeister Meister Clag, are you able to provide an indication of where you are with the progress of this project? Best Scott.

  17. Or a Roll and Slice if you're in Ayreshire. Perthites and North-East coasters call it Lorne Sausage, however... Best Scott.
  18. I’ve never bought a DVD, CD, LP or game for that matter with any consideration of what it’s worth after I’ve bought it, so I’m not sure I see the relevance? I take some comfort in knowing that no-one, with the flick of a switch, can stop me from re-reading Asimov’s Foundation nor listening to The Queen Is Dead with my physical copies… Best Scott.
  19. The red and Grey set looks very interesting and unusual. I’m seriously tempted. Best Scott.
  20. I don’t think they were uncommon on the QoS, although I’ve also seen 26s on it between Edinburgh and Glasgow. best scott.
  21. Are there any guitarists on RMWeb who would be interested in collaborating remotely on original material? Initially I'm looking for an electric guitar solo on one of my home recorded tracks but more involved future collaborations could be a possibility... You'd need a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) of some description (I use Reaper but I don't think it matters which). Your own influences wouldn't matter that much (within reason) but for interest the kind of style I'm looking for would be along the lines of (emphasis on subtlety and melody rather than face melting solos...): Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Eagles Rolling Stones Counting Crows Mark Knopfler Shed Seven Del Amitri Ryan Adams etc. Drop me a PM if interested. Best Scott.
  22. There is this from 1965, Waverley to Queen Street, albeit it appears to be a brake vehicle: Best Scott
  23. I think this is an interesting discussion, because I think the split of carriage types required depends on a number of factors. Firstly, are the rakes marshalled authentically? Secondly, which region are you modelling, and thirdly how many rakes you need to assemble to run your services?. In my case, for my future Magnum Opus centred around Perth/Glasgow BS, I've used the winter 1964 marshalling document to assemble my trains and this amounts to: 5 rakes for Glasgow-Aberdeen 5 rakes for Edinburgh-Perth 4 rakes for Glasgow-Dundee 4 rakes for Glasgow-Inverness 1 rake Glasgow-Perth 1 rake for York-Inverness 5 rakes London-Perth 1 rake for "Aberdeen Postal" This comes to around 166 passenger carrying carriages (and so excludes things like CCT, TCV, etc.) The break down of types looks like this: 7 First class only (FK, FO) 48 Second class only (SK, SO) 26 Composite only (CK) 48 Brakes (BFK, BCK, BSK) 18 Sleepers (SLF, SLS) 11 Catering (RU, RFO, RMB) The upshot is I, for one, am quite happy that that Farish make as many BCK, BSK, etc., as they do SK & SO.
