Is it wrong to have a beer at the workbench? The word you seek is mandatory, and the answer is yes.

  2. Need to lay off projects on the workbench that feel like you’re working in a factory line.

  3. Done my lower back in.

Did the same first day of the Christmas hols, bent over to put a plate in the dishwasher, bang, couldn't move for a week, still not right now. I have a wheat pack that heats up in the microwave, helped no end and also makes a great camera steady when taking close up layout shots!

      My sympathy,

I've suffered this on four notable occasions in the past 10 years, once through sneezing, another time walking between rooms, once sitting eating breakfast, but the most serious, helping an elderly gent rise from his chair. I was paralysed for 3 hours until a doc administered a relieving injection.

My hints, go straight for physio as soon as possible, do without prescribed 'painkillers' if you can - side effects can be worse than the pain. Best wishes for a quick recovery.

Chrismas Eve was the time for re-reading the Christmas Railway Modeller and speculating about what, if any model, Santa might be good enough to bring.

Christmas 1977 was rather epic, under the tree, I found a Class 08, Nellie, a Lima J50, two Mainline Mk1s and a secondhand 75 ton crane.

That last really made the day.

One day, I'll recreate that line up with high spec models! :-)
