  1. It would help me get on with all the other work!
  2. Teatime, far more important!
  3. It's hard to treat a problem child on here benevolently in the late evening after a long working day. They never learn.
  4. Nothing. She is committed, enthusiastic and driven. I think the comments assessing the work/life balance of someone you don't know is inappropriate for the public domain. No more of it please.
  5. Well done guys! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/world-australia-58740915 Anyway, Plan B coming? Means that we ought to be on Plan C.
  6. Thanks Andy, all old and known (sadly) but have you only just started to see that this week?
  7. Yup, I think we can both see the issue there irrespective of whether it's mild or not. So; sources of figures. Officially there have been just over 400 Omicron infections - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-59563939 From the link "Using this data, researchers at the University of East Anglia believe there could have been five to six times as many Omicron cases as the official total shows. This data is what is behind suggestions the number of cases is doubling every three days or so and the conclusion that it is more transmissible than Delta." If that data is correct then it's reasonable to say a 25% increase in cases per day is a cautious estimate. What would that give in case numbers? If those cases isolated (irrespective of their symptoms) how many people would be not working or WFH? By the end of January the numbers don't even work. If it can be caught more than once some of people may appear more than once in those calculations. So, at what point will intervention come? In healthcare terms only when/if the systems can't cope but if the current rules are followed on the information which is being given solutions will need to be found way before the middle of January. This is why the spread needs limiting, not just because of actually catching it. Advocating carrying on as much as possible without decisive actions normally comes from those fervent about reducing economic damage but it seems that approach is more likely to cause greater economic impact. It's not as simple as bodies in mortuaries vs. the economy.
  8. Some days it's very difficult to balance a cheek on each stool but it's part of what I'm paid to do, so I do. On one hand I have users who just pile in with a repetitive whinge and development folk who don't get the frustration that users face; neither will see the bit in the middle which is where we all need to be.
  9. Thanks Nick, that was where I was at last night. The only change today is that the embedded video as is back to being a pop-up. You shouldn't be getting the ads on Gold though, apart from in a few subforums - that needs attending to as well.
  10. 40 years ago today - https://www.world-of-railways.co.uk/news/remembering-an-infamous-apt-journey-40-years-ago
  11. It'll be RMweb Plum* when we launch it. *Not a real product, just a project code-name.
  12. Site or software? RMweb was launched on 15 March 2005, by me, paid for by me etc. Just because you don't remember something doesn't mean it didn't happen.
  13. Is it a pop-up ad Steve or embedded within the page?
  14. Thank you; that's the crucial bit I needed to know. Any iPad users who can confirm what they're getting please?
  15. Yes; I think the main issue since yesterday afternoon relates to tablets. Is everyone who's risen up over the last 24 hours seeing this on Android and Apple tablets? Mobile and Desktops seem to be the same. Am I correct?
  16. I think you may not have read enough of the topic.
  17. Plum was favourite at one point. Until I considered that sending messages around the business about 'my plums', 'problems with plums' etc may, possibly, be misconstrued.
  18. I still call it Silver (when I'm hassling my boss) but we've decided on a different name, more in due course.
  19. I'd be less annoyed if I had the ad-free subs option available for you to use. I'm awaiting the conclusion of a protracted process. It'll only be £12 a year and it can't come a moment too soon.
  20. Someone has been tinkering testing again and it's a mess. Really don't need this today so I'll be having some 'conversations'. If there's an X visible at the top of the ad closing it will help, a little.
  21. The highlights and layouts are available until the end of today - https://www.world-of-railways.co.uk/virtual-exhibitions/world-of-railways-virtual-exhibition-part-iiii
  22. I've had that in mind Tony whilst thinking that most of the multi-discipline UK shows appear to be in the bottom-right hand corner of Britain. There was also a short-lived (2 years?) event at the NEC about 15 years ago.
