Whilst you have it in bits, don't forget to insert the prototypical capacitors in the window.

I'll bet you're finding it much easier & cheaper to source bits for your model now.

lol, I did think of installing dts front bogies with the pickups, but then I’d need lighting in everything else….

second hand prices for 1980’s sets are still holding sadly. I need a pair of dts’ to make a ts sometime ….

Good luck with the lining. Every time I've  tried them in the past they have ended up stuck to everything other than where they should be:O . Hence the reason Roomey hand lined most of mine before a good coat of grott!!!

looking forward to seeing the end result. If the men in white coats haven’t arrived with a straight jacket for you

I have form, this was many years ago though. The last mixed traffic loco I did was the 2-8-2

Hi, very interested in this as I have thought of using stirrers as material. How do the start he’s look now? Did you ever finish them off?

Pretty well, front and centre in this pic taken for the BRM article 🙂

Real coal and lots of dirty black wash made with old used up black acrylic paint, water and a drop of washing up liquid

  4. One problem solved thanks to the good folk in MERG: The accessory decoder by default expected an OFF event from the handset before it would react to another ON event. This caused problems if you used the external buttons to move the turnout. Long story but I now have a version 5.2NCR of the firmware :D

I made a new label for it, I think the white on black looks better too.

Expect a custom pcb in the new year.....

  5. Got some more work done on the conveyor over the weekend, despite helping out at Wycrail Friday evening and all day Saturday. Tipper area modified to allow for 9mm track and every other bar on the grating removed to better allow some Woodland Scenics Cinders to drop through.

Apron cut back too as there's no way you'd want to dump spoil onto the track!

Instructions have also been downloaded from  Walthers for the chain link fencing. Not sure yet if I'll use it though.

That's a creative solution! For me, expanding a micro has proven a lot harder that I thought, so I'm impressed you've managed to fit it in. Thanks for the inspiration.

PS: I like the duck theme :D

here's where I am after last night, note artistically placed common crossings as I can't work out how to translate my monster creation into proper turnout templates!
