Alan?
Think part of the problem was that it was loose inside the Hornby Box as there was no inner plastic tray etc. The bubble wrap did not prevent it moving around in the Hornby box as it's quite a heavy die cast boiler and firebox with very delicate plastic parts attached.
Of course if Special Delivery parcels were treated with a bit more respect then the damage would not have occurred, sadly these things cannot be expected these days despite the high costs of the service .......
Anyway, it's well on the mend

Ah codfanglers, I don't get the Camera2 api come up on my Sony phone. Back to the Canon
-
Thanks for link to the app
I generally use a custom script on my Canon that shoots from the current focus up to the hyperfocal length of the lens then stack in Photoshop CS6 but it will be handy to use the phone if I've not got my full kit with me

No, to be honest it gets very little use as it only runs on Summat Colliery, which only seems to get it's outing at the Mansfield Show every other year!

I think I attached them to the buffer beams. Had to remove quite a lot of whitemetal to clear the bogies as I remember ....
here's a pic of the body in primer with the sandboxes attached

Lol, I do have a show to put on as well

How do the locos run over the wagon turntables? Is the wheelbase long enough to stretch over the distance to the live rail?
The bare chassis will get over at speed on DC, once the metal body is on it's a bit better, but with only one wheel set in contact with live rail it's a bit hit and miss LOL. When I go DCC I'll invest in a large(ish) stay alive

Quickly? It's took me all week to do the hardstanding, I thought a couple of evenings tops lol
-
I've found that an extra thickness of 1mm card in between the chairs raises the card "surface" to the right height on the 9mm track. I'll keep plodding on. Oh and the horrible cut line at the end of the short narrow gauge section next to the standard track will be covered by a sleeper wagon stop

It's all Scalescenes

It is worth noting too that there will be others, employees and maybe suppliers who have lost their livelihoods. I know that does nothing to help you with your losses though.
A very valid warning to all considering paying up front for goods that are not yet available methinks......

The only option would be a kickback siding from the bottom engine shed road in the far right bottom corner, replace the R606. But due to the length of the road after the 606 you'd only get a small engine down there. I can't extend that road due to the power connector in the corner .....

OK I missed the "-"

Nearly there .....

Updated the entry to inclde a pic of the bogie pivots after filing down
-
I'll see if I can take one tonight, but basically big file, not a namby pamby modelling one and took off the plastic down to the brass insert. All done by eye.
-
Yes, on my list to file off some of the bogie fixings to lower the bogies, did a comparison with a few wagons the other day and the buffers were too high!
I'll post images when done

Existing axle, drilled the Slaters wheels out 1.8mm (I think) then pressed them on

I'm using the instructions as a source of info - kit puts the job beyond my notional budget for loco builds for Fourgig. If I were building the loco for anything other than my little shunting plank then I'd be looking at the PRMRP bogies or something similar for traction, but as all it will be pulling is 4 or 5 wagons then the standard drive with a couple of pounds of lead will be fine
I do have and MMP diesel detailing kit that will donate some parts (mainly roof fan and cab details) but that also will do 47s and 37s etc so will either be sold on or retained for future use
Besides, it's more fun making it up yourself LOL

Ta, scalpel first then edge of a razor blade to scrape the remains off. Finish with wet or dry etc

Think it's worthwhile noting that the bits of the 82000 are still sitting in the storage box from 2011. I guess I'm still waiting for Bachmann LOL
