Have you seen my 2-8-2?
-
Edit: I forgot the spring protectors too!
-
finished connecting up the vacuum cylinder and added the gas tank last night, footboards tonight methinks
-
I've not got an O gauge kit for that Pete
-
That's some of the second point kit that the chassis is upside down on too Ian - although I did re-profile the V to a 1:5 from a 1:6
-
This coach you should see, not so sure about the Pannier Tank though
-
just received a delivery from Eileen's so I can restart the 0.5mm hole drilling in the pulley castings
-
pack of ten .....
-
Prep work for the next section complete - compensating links for the rodding that leads to the entry facing point and lock. and the compensating cranks for the two double slip switches. Stools are cut and laid up to the #9 crank/compensators. Update to follow once rodding is laid

Stop it Ivan
And thanks Deb, coming from you the rating is much appreciated

The main signal controls movements into the platform and the shunt signal movements into the run-round loop/goods siding
Hope that helps

Nice job Phil, on all levels

You don't approve of the industrial look?
-
The shoe is in fact a novelty tape dispenser bought for SWMBO at Christmas - I must relocate it to the study....
-
The nameboard was produced by JAF Graphics and cost
-
The rig will be in action at RMweb Live!, Barrow Hill Live!, the Elizabethan and Wycrail as it WILL fit Summat Colliery too
-
Nah, do you good, boost your vitamin D levels
-
Oh and I forgot to point out, you can cut the strips to length too, I have a section with a few spare LEDs on to be reused elsewhere as the fiddleyard board is only 3ft 3" on Fourgig

These:

plus the extension kit

not cheap, but you don't need to then go searching for a 12v supply etc etc. The adhesive on the strips isn't the best, but a dab of cyano at the ends sorts it

Hi Pete
yes the front of the pelmets are level with the front edge of the layout(s). Support strength? dunno, I just went with the same material that I'd used to raise the height of the layout. I used what I was familiar with I guess. Lighting will be Maplins LED lighting strips, I could get cheaper but they seem well made and easy to install etc
Hope that helps

LOL
all in hand dear boy, it packs away pretty flat, no section wider than 4 foot. The supports will be in the boot for Summat and behind the front seats for Fourgig (where Summat's fiddle yard sits. The pelmets will fit on the back seat behind the layout box (I hope)

not tempted to try just turning the half track round in the jig and doing the other side? - how good is your jig
-
One thing I do need to sort out is that when you apply power to the layout all the signals revert to "off". It would be better if they were all safe and "on" at the start of play so I'll do a Powercab macro to set them at the start of a session. Might be handy during a show too as I'm sure the "bobby" will leave a few off at times
SWMBO was most amused when I explained to her how you "pull off" a signal to make a train go .....

Yep, a technique I learnt in metalwork at school - would have the h & s twits having a blue fit these days

Don't forget to have a couple of Pway workers at on top of the cab
I also thought NR had banned the use of log grabs for moving rail sections following an incident a year or so ago ....
