  1. Got loksound 5 and double iPhone in mine …. Howes sound file D200 …. Loksound v5 video
  2. And they continued to arrive in the West Midlands … on the two van trains from Worcester, the Sunday only loco hauled class 2 from Hereford and on workings from the South West via Gloucester. Not that common on the latter though, and they shared the Worcester/Hereford turns with Hymeks. These were all out and back turns, with no fill in work in the West Midlands that I am aware of….
  3. I think E3044 had been repainted in BR blue whilst the rest were still in electric blue … so better represented the future.
  4. The butterflies on mine were split and fell apart when I tried to refit them. But have still done a successful repair to them with a tiny dab of superglue….
  5. Courtesy of Pete Berry … who very kindly lent me his original photo to scan and tinker with… here is a picture of a working I was aware of but did not think I would ever see. My good friend Ian Tipper who was a driver on the bankers at Bromsgrove had noted it passing Bromsgrove in his notes he kindly lent me but I never imagined I would see a photo of it. Pete originally posted it in the Railways in the Three Counties FB group but it most definitely merits wider viewing. It’s 21st October 1968 and E3044 has been starring at the previous weekends Bristol Open Day. What better choice of motive power to get her back north other than a fellow NBL loco …. D837 Ramilles. Pete saw the cavalcade leaving Gloucester Eastgate station and managed to capture its passing at Tramway Junction. Please respect photographers copyright.
  6. Go for it ! Hope it works …. Just tell the boss how lovely the Cotswolds are in summer… 😀
  7. Yes a nice move … As long as it doesn’t increase the kinetic envelope and cause clearance problems on layouts ….
  8. Ah …. Forgot to say …. Next outing is now confirmed, GWSR diesel gala 12-14th July. We will be in the Tim Mitchell building on Winchcombe station …. And rumour is the barbecue will be outside. Heritage diesels and hot dogs … what could be better?
  9. Progress to day on that list of jobs… Well the first one is done! We now have 4 power buses across 20 boards with LEDs for each bus on each board so we can see immediately if there is a power issue. Just got to put it all up and test it. Will grab a double slip at Bristol show this weekend until then it’s scenic tinkering…. Today’s job being Sadler’s crossing, the occupation crossing giving access to the farm in the triangle Must move that distant signal further out and replace it with the outer home. . Jim has a sub board to do the farm on, the ruler shows where the crossing and access road are .
  10. Ah did wonder if they were yours!! Very nice indeed… Also need to hide that top photo from SWMBO here …. Direct evidence of me handing you hard cash!! 😀
  11. I wish @robertcwp would stop posting such gratuitous eye candy in our two periods of interest! This could cost a fortune …. 😀
  12. Thanks to all involved for an excellent meet up today. Some inspirational modelling on show, together with great woffle and cakes …. Especially the Welsh ones! Didn’t spend too much … just a wagon kit and some plates and bits from @mozzer models. Excellent company for the drive down from @Downendian a bonus!
  13. or a metal watch strap …. But with 18v 7amps you soon know about that one!
  14. 4.10 Evesham to Crewe express freight wasn’t it?
  15. According to SWMBO there’s a very low probability of that!!! 😀
  16. Meanwhile at the GWSR …. St George’s day asparagus express
  17. Can see what you mean Mr M! Would be a shame if that was perpetuated in newly designed bogies…. Wonder if these EPs are sat on old ones?
  18. It’s already been mentioned but it’s worth emphasis …. Having accessories on a seperate bus with its own circuit breaker will mean you can continue to change points if you get a track power short . Avoids the issue of not being able to change the point you have just tried to run through against the set route thereby creating the short
  19. Excellent news! Thanks Bachmann, good to see the interest in the Mk1 coaches is still there….
  20. @Downendian and I are planning a raid on Sunday! is Millionaires Shortbread required?
  21. We also operate on a wandering basis …. So have gone for eyebolts with cord through them. Mind you that gang of criminals should be enough to deter any potential learners or tinkerers. That 4 doll bracket causes angst though… and red cord next time i think!
  22. Hornby ones are very good for recreations of The Flying Kipper… prone to derailments!
