Yes agreed the single doors are the clue …
  2. Great narrative and photos thanks for sharing. The Hymeks were well thought of at Worcester and were stalwarts of the Cotswolds line ably supporting and supported by NBL warships and those Brush type 4 thingies. We won’t lower the tone of the occasion by mentioning the Type 2s from the same stable. Double headers? Of course there was a Bromsgrove banking pair. But for working a train there’s the Cardiff Tidal - Soho Pool tanks which would double up in the early days of the class if the load required it. There’s a Michael Mensing picture of a pair at Norton junction on this train. And of course it’s the Severn Valley diesel gala next weekend …. Lots of oil sloshers …. D1015/62, D821/32, D9551 and D7076 working, D1013/48 and D7029 on display. What a shame D7017/8 couldn’t make it but there may even be banking out of Bridgnorth. Will be there on the Wednesday weather depending as it’s the last week of the trout tickling season… Happy days!
  3. It’s a Heartache …. Bonnie Tyler
  4. Cheers Mike! I did look at that photo again before posting to check which loco it was as I was making a very poor attempt at irony! Didn’t get past your good self did it? 😉
  5. Ah I must be safe … surely No 15xx ever made it to Worcester
  6. Hee hee you are welcome….. am sure you will return the favour, prevaricating over the 15xx here Phil
  7. I would say so Phil! I know it floated my boat with the model of a Worcester loco but mine is certainly an all round good un.
  8. Ah that’s great Fran. Couldn’t imagine you not sticking to prototype , many thanks for clarification Looking forwards to D6702 arriving followed by a couple of these beauties. Cheers Phil
  9. Hi Fran Looking great! Just one comment based on your full update…. Why are the buffer shanks not going to be silver? See 6986 and a couple of others on Brush Veterans super photos … Here …. In my memory those round oleo shanks certainly were shiny! An easy fix with paint if they emerge as brown/black as you suggest but just wondering why? Cheers Phil
  10. As applied at Aberystwyth by Danny Rowlands cleaners …. Hence known as “Danny’s Bull”
  11. That’s probably the best call … if it bothers them whoever buys it can sort out…
  12. Boiler room grille is easily covered with plasticard if that’s your show stopper….
  13. In my experience with taking stock to exhibitions the biggest risk to detail is to keep them in the original packing. There are much better options available….
  14. Probably a bit early yet…. And with recent mild winters they tend to be more active all year. Best to leave food for them over winter in case it’s needed…,

Rails now showing as due September/October for D6352. Artwork is still a photo of D6326 so not possible to judge if drivers name card holders are present or not…
  16. In the Court of the Crimson king … King Crimson
  17. Yes, we are in the Lee of the Malverns here with the prevailing westerlies…. 😉
  18. That Shackleton footage is excellent. There was some B17 footage on YouTube too but can’t find that any more. Although we don’t have air shows any more there’s still a fair bit of interesting traffic… supposed to be a Hurricane this Saturday…
  19. The land of make believe - Moody Blues
  20. Our own private air show today! Typhoon circuits and bumps at Staverton
  21. Absolutely agree. But there will always be accidental transgressions in a fast moving contact sport. one of the main factors in England’s win over Argentina was the penalty count … or rather lack of it, particularly from Itoje.
  22. Afternoon CK I made a herring sized rectangular mould from timber and started each load with a base of card mounting board. Added another shorter and narrower layer of board on top with a neodymium magnet in the middle. Then added Atwood Aggregates fine ballast on top until I was happy and soaked it with daily shower spray followed by ballast bond glue. Corners cut off base to clear any handrail wire protruding through to inside of hopper. Wagons are weighted to a tare of 30 g with liquid lead … hopefully not too conspicuous when running empty. Loads weigh 10g and sit down to the point where the hopper taper begins. Very happy with their gross weight at 40 g although 1661 struggled with 20 of them …. Happy with 17 though! Ran very well on both Pirton and the new Abbotswood layout. Hope that helps
