Also it looks like it is on the move from Crewe to the Great Central Railway so imagine was a way to spread the cost

I have to go to Kensington Olympia on Thursday for work so will be interested to get a sense of the area vs the layout, I haven't been for years!

As @Camperdown suggests MH do the kits, they also do/did one for the dual door Bristol VRT that Bristol/Oxford/Southdown had albeit you are on your own re moving the staircase. Have a look for "Jeff Day" on Flickr, he has doen a few Bristol Bus model conversions. Having recently model a BOC Leyland National (albeit in 1:43) I look forward to seeing your results!

Looking at 47464, it lost the Dominoes pre large loco livery, when in large logo the plated headcode panel was painted black.

RABA definitely weren't sold in the UK but as you say the MAN version were common, Gateway supermarkets had quite a few for example. Equally the cab was used by Saviem/Renault which were less common in the UK but at least one is preserved. Look forward to seeing the finished model, I am Intrigued by what you have planned for the load.. It has given me an idea for a model of a Lorry from a certain famous haulier from Burnham on Sea with yellow and blue lorries who had a lot of work starting in the Barry Island area..

I can't believe it is 4 months since I have posted on this thread... A combination of other projects (1:43 Seddon Atkinson lorry and the display board for the class 60) coupled with the overhaul of the main bathroom and loads of decorating plus more time away from home with work has meant progress has been limited. That said I have overcome some "Modellers block" I had re what to do with the canopy for the warehouse on the extension. The challenge I was facing was the depth of the platform which is c 10cm from the face to the warehouse. I bought an LCUT canopy kit when I built the warehouse but it was too short and not deep enough to cover the width of the platform so I put in the spares box. Dave came over last week and we discussed what I could do and settled on making something from scratch but before I did I showed Dave the LCUT bits. We both agreed that the bits could actually be incorporated but I would need to buy some extra valances for the deeper and longer canopy. As the canopy is quite deep it would need a few columns for support but again LCUT do some 3d printed ones the right size. Here is the canopy temporarily secured on the front of the warehouse I also used the ornate support brackets included in the canopy kit as well The columns are handily the exact right size (The wonky fascia will be fixed!)

Just to my earlier note, I can highly recommend @Steadfast who was brilliant at helping with the custom artwork / transfers for my projects, the SA Strato was quite a complex one to do and the transfers were spot on.

Wow, some amazing projects here Dan and great to see someone else doing some work on 1/43 vehicles! I like the Ergo tipper, I would like to do one of the later Ergomatic cab variant of a Blue Circle Leyland bison. Also the FFG looks a handy model so will keep my eyes peeled I have also been partial to some IXO model bashing as well as a few Steve Beattie kits. Most of the transfers were custom ones from Steadfast models who have kept all the artwork on file so have things like numberplate, tax discs, name badges etc which maybe of use. The line up below left to right is - Seddon Atkinson strato; much modified IXO Peagaso Troner - Leyland National; detailed Steve Beattie - Dodge BR personnel carrier; as above - Leyland FG van; Modified IXO - Sherpa van; Ex James Bond partwork with the damage removed On my Peasevern Yard thread there are some modified IXO Bedfords. Look forward to seeing what you do next!

I don't think 47601 ever had class 56 bogies, are you confusing 56042 which had class 58 bogies? I think there would be enough interest in 47601/901 as LTD edition but it the sort of thing that Heljan rather than Bachmann are likely to do based on past track record

Nearly done now, last jobs on the tractor unit was the airlines and the 5th wheel pull handle. As supplied the model came with a blue line but this should be black in the UK and provides the electrics for the trailer while the red and yellow lines supply air to the trailer (without the red airline in place the trailer breaks won't release). The handle on the side of the coupling plate (aka 5th wheel) is pulled towards the edge of the mudguard to release the trailer and then pops back in when another trailer is connected. On the trailer I drilled holes in the receptacles so with a small pair of pliers the airlines can be connected. The trailer and unit are store separately in the box so I need to be able to split them. Whenever I eventually build a 1990s layout the lorry will be securely fixed to the layout by removable wires.

I too mourn the loss of the large estate, I believe Skoda Superbs are still available as well. I luckily managed to buy one of the last Mondeo 2.0 diesels which was new in Jan 2021 and will be kept for a long time...

I look forward to seeing that, I had 37010 and 042 on a railtour from. Bristol to Crewe in 1995, was a great day and had a soft spot for the pair afterwards. On the way back they got an absolute trashing down the Lickey Bank, my old man who was with me opened up some years later it was the only time he had been on a train and genuinely thought it was going to derail.

I think the latest incident is an ex Lothian bus operated by another operator rather than still owned by Lothian?

I think they already had cut down some 08's by then to replace the 03's? I understand a loco had failed and 08898 was sent down the branch in error to rescue it with none of the staff involved realising that a non cut down loco had been allocated..
