  1. Intriguingly, it is a model of an actual wagon though. https://hmrs.org.uk/-acg829--morris---griffin--newport--10t-platform-wagon-no--1--op--side-spoked-wheels--ssdbk.html
  2. Animal carcasses? How about a tarpaulin with some cattle legs sticking out? As you can probably tell, I have no idea.
  3. It may be worth contacting Wizard who now own MSE.
  4. For the avoidance of doubt the content of the video is true and not made up as part of a comedy sketch.
  5. It isn't actually a comedy show but something from Led By Donkeys. A bunch of blokes who became famous during Brexit for putting up large billboard posters pointing out the lies, broken promises and moral failings of people in the public eye. They then moved on from billboards to massive video projections onto the white cliffs of the south coast and the side of the Palace of Westminster. https://twitter.com/ByDonkeys
  6. Perhaps wait until 5th November and have an enormous bonfire of his products?
  7. The Wikipedia entry for the artist culprit is an interesting read: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Kinkade I particularly liked: "died in his sleep, very happy" - the autopsy report said he died of acute intoxication from alcohol and diazepam and Kinkade's work is described as "so awful it must be seen to be believed"

    Little Muddle

Yes, but where can I buy decent salted peanuts to go with my G&T? Serious question. The last time I had good salted peanuts was over a decade ago!
  9. https://order-order.com/2022/10/21/whos-backing-who-the-spreadsheet-returns/ Currently it appears to be Sunak 82, Johnson 62, Mordaunt 24 with 47% of MPs having indicated their voting intention. One thing I noticed is the number of blank green votes for Johnson representing MPs who are required to remain publicly neutral - whips, party board members, Tory vice chairs and 1922 chairmen. An indication perhaps of the view amongst party members. If the proportion of votes remains this way there is a real chance of Johnson being chosen by the party! Apologies for sharing my depression. 😟
  10. Should there be hatches to access the covered ends? I don't know but, assuming they are hollow, I can imagine the need to check they are empty of water.
  11. Worcester Warriors: Ex-owners Jason Whittingham & Colin Goldring disqualified from being directors. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/63300042 More to come I suspect once the Administrator and prospective buyers have finished digging through everything.
  12. This might be handy, Chris. https://live.staticflickr.com/6080/6062870105_5f317c2fed_b.jpg It's the section of disused canal at the Black Country Museum. Behind the camera is the section which often appeared in Peaky Blinders. If you look carefully you can see there are more barges than it first appears though they may have been the victims of some over loading!
  13. I love the way that several barges are listing to one side due to the temporarily lop-sided coal heaps during the loading process. Could be a feature worth modelling.
  14. Nope. Definitely Australian. 😛 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUQyDfg8rfE
  15. Ah, perhaps that is what they are supposed to be then, especially since Chris's example looks a little wide, i.e. a barge rather than a canal/narrow boat.
  16. Apparently the QR code will "allow people to watch videos and send messages". How long before the first report of "A stamp infected my phone with a virus" ? I don't now the answer to your question but perhaps it will prevent re-use if each stamp has a different message encoded.
  17. Well, that's another addition to the list of dangerous Australian flora and fauna.
  18. If it is a towing post, why are there three of them? I have only ever seen towing ropes attached higher up too, so the horse is pulling down a little rather than up (if you get what I mean). I'm tempted to think they are just poor representations of posts for mooring ropes and might be better replaced with 'metal' fittings.
  19. NHY 581 is the master of Lack. Take a look at any of his layouts. I built a couple of layouts on 1.9m Lack shelves when our sons were younger. I topped them with insulation board (very low density fibre board) and cut channels for wiring. Points were hand operated but there's no reason you couldn't hide a horizontal bar or wire-in-tube which could be attached to a point motor or operated by hand from the baseboard edge. Mounting a point motor below would either mean the motor being a long way from the point or involve digging into the egg box structure of the shelf. It is also an expensive way to operate a point that isn't very far away. It is worth looking at the rest of the Lack range to see if the various tables give you any ideas for different sized layouts.
  20. It gets funnier. I have been sent this today. (Sorry it's a bit out of focus.)
  21. No. I don't think you're being unreasonable. A room for your hobby is just another thing to go on the list of features you are looking for. If your hobby was restoring classic cars then you'd want a garage. If it was gardening then you would want a decent sized plot. If you had children you would want an appropriate number of bedrooms. If you liked dinner parties you would want a dining room. If you enjoyed cooking then a tiny kitchen wouldn't be appropriate. If theatre was your thing then living in the middle of nowhere wouldn't be fun. If you enjoyed hillwalking perhaps living in the middle of a city wouldn't be your first choice. Do you need good transport links? Do you need to be near a school? Do you need a hospital nearby? Do you need to be near parents or grown up children? My thinking would always be to make a list and then have a grown up discussion about the relative priorities of everything on it with the aim of arriving at a shortlist of the features that really matter to everyone concerned. I have a feeling though that none of this has anything to do with what Gilly was hoping to hear when the question in the OP was posed. 🙂
